Looking through my 2015 pictures, I realized I didn’t take enough pictures. Thankfully I’m doing a Project 365 in 2016. I also realized you don’t always know the story behind the photos you see. My husband, who never has to travel for work, was gone almost 1/2 of this past year. So that lovely picture of us at the fair…it had been a hard season apart. The serene picture of Veronica and Leo picking wild flowers…they were picking flowers and wheat out of the field in front of my grandparents house to place on my grandpa’s freshly dug grave. My son’s Baja Mini Bike I’m sitting on…fell apart and it took months for a refund. The beautiful barns against the green grass…we’ve been making some tough financial decisions and sacrifices for the past five and a half years to pay our home off quickly. The point is, actually there are two. First, we never know exactly what part of someone’s life we are looking at or into when we see their pictures online. And second, scatter grace wherever you go, including some into your own self. We are all struggling against, with or for something. Let’s love our neighbor as ourselves…beginning by loving ourselves.
