Welcome to my weekly post, Daybook Online Journal. This is a post where I gather all the ordinary things that happen or are happening in my day to day. Things like what I’m reading or listening to…eating and cleaning and learning…These are the small moments that make up my blessed daily life; and I want to remember them. I would love to read your Daybook Online Journal, just leave it in the comments section below. You can use my prompts or make up your own to include items important to you; mine change depending on season and circumstance.
Daybook Online Journal: Mid July
Thanking God for…
::feeling the heat of July (NO, I do not like the heat, but if I’m feeling it that means I’m alive and well.)
::weekends
::evening swims with the family
::quiet time with God in the morning
::my computer (it’s slowly dying I think so maybe if I say nice things about it it will hold out a bit longer?)
::blogging (I have been blogging in some way for almost 11 years and still enjoy it, from design to writing.)
::laughing with my husband and children
::family rosary in the evening
Praying…
I am praying for me. Things are out of sorts and that makes me out of sorts and our new normal is not normal, it’s hard. I’m lacking focus and direction, energy and patience, long term thinking and an overall sense of joy in my daily vocation. I’m praying for my kids that not only is God granting them grace through this season, but that they continue to grant me grace.
Listening to…
The dryer…always the dryer; it’s next to the office.
Reading…
My large print Bible
The Word Among Us
I picked one up at the back of the church the other day. Some of the reflections are lovely and thought provoking.
Bible Journaling…
I posted the other day about a POWERful new Bible journaling method I’ve been using. Beginning August 1st I’m inviting you all to join me in a 31 Day POWERful Bible Reading Challenge. If you don’t receive The Littlest Way in your email inbox, you’ll want to go ahead and sign up for that. There will be a free goal tracking chart available for subscribers only. Click here to sign up.
Around the House…
I am tired of living in survival mode. I am tired of getting upset because all the good habits we’ve established are falling away one by one. I’m setting a few daily goals: cleaning goals, meal planning goals and prayer goals…just a couple at a time, until things start chugging along better.
In the Kitchen…
Bernadette requested Root Beer Floats over the weekend. She said they are a part of some of her favorite memories, so of course we had them! We also had Frito Chili Pie, another Bernadette request. The rest of the week looks good…a good plan, now I just need to execute that good plan.
Our Domestic Church…
We’ve been trying to make the time to remember my grandpa and grandma in prayer each day by praying The Chaplet of The Divine Mercy. We mix it up by praying on our own or praying along with this beautiful version.
Captured…
The original owners of our home were in town, they live in another state now, and called to see if they could stop by. Um, OF COURSE! I love it when they come by. They built this house and raised their three daughters here. The father of this sweet family lived here his whole life until they moved when he was in his 50’s. His father was born on the property near ours! We always welcome them in and give them free access to the houses and barns. They are always so appreciative of the love and care we have for the farm.

Hi Lux, We’re enjoying some national soccer games right now and we’ve decided whoever sold these teams on coming to the midwest in the middle of July heart is a true salesman!

Thank you for your honesty and faith in each and every post. From your posts, it seems we have many things in common and it’s helpful to know that as I continue in my vocation each day – I am not alone in my pursuits. Thank you! God Bless!

Hi Dawn and thanks for the comment. It’s always nice to know we’re not alone and you did that for me with your sweet comment!
