Welcome to the Daybook. A weekly post here at The Littlest Way where I gather all the ordinary things that happen or are happening in my day to day. Things like what I’m reading or listening to, eating, cleaning, and learning. These are the small moments that make up my blessed daily life and I want to remember them. My prompts may change depending on season and circumstance.
Thanking God for…
::watching Leo ride a bike around the farm with the other kids
::my new plant in the office
::mercy and grace
::asking Leo who loves him most and him answering “God”
::Lucy dog after her yearly trip to the vet for shots and bath
::kids playing baseball in the side yard
::Anna and Veronica playing on the same high school soccer team
::making pretzels Friday for Lent
I’m praying for me. I waffle between peace and anxiety with my upcoming surgery. I’m not worried about the physical recovery, I’m concerned with the mental. I mention frequently how much I have struggled with my mind in the past and I don’t want to disturb the balance I’ve found.
I listened to a talk the other day about priorities. My first priority is God, followed by Chris, my children and then my home. Everything else is after that–if there is time for anything else.
What a Beautiful Name

Around the House…
I need to order a shower curtain. I’m thinking about this hookless one. When we had our shower re-tiled, Chris had them extend the tile out a little farther to protect the walls. Our shower also has a little lip, maybe six inches tall. I did not want shower doors re-installed because I hate them. Given the lip and extended tile, I thought we could do a shower curtain? Do you have a shower curtain that you love?
In the Kitchen…
My Sunday view: kids making pretzels for #lent Veronica making her dad cookies, and in the foreground, the bane of my homemaking existence…the unmatched sock basket. #adayinthelife #momofboys #momofgirls #momofteens #catholicmom #mommaofmany #largefamilyliving #nowisnow #nowisgood #itsabeautifullife #joyfilledlife #homemaking #thelittlestway #sundayafternoon #sundayvibes #kidsinthekitchen #peacefulhomemaking #peacefulparenting #motherhood #motherslove #momlife #mothersofinstagram #ministryofmotherhood
So I’ve been reading up on oils and I keep coming across information that you should not apply them “neat” that is, straight on your skin. Other than the obvious possible irritation, these articles mention becoming sensitized to the oils. What do you think or know?
A Great Blog Post
A Spring Self-Care Tip to Help You Breathe
“Our bodies serve us so well. They have carried life, served others, walked us through years of trials and joys, worked, laughed, made love. We rise and stretch, hug and nurture, bend and bounce the babies. We can find joy that our bodies house our hearts and souls, a dwelling place for Christ through His Spirit.”

I did have a little theme going on over on my Instagram account but the last 6 pictures, I’ve gotten away from it. What do you think? Theme or no theme?
Our Domestic Church…
I used to make pretzels with my kids on Friday’s in Lent. I have not made pretzels on Friday’s in Lent in almost 10 years. I did this past Friday and all the kids–teens to five year old loved it!
You may be tired of hearing me talk about Ibotta, that’s ok, I’m going to mention it again. I went grocery shopping the other day with my usual list. I bought Nutella and Dove shampoo plus my other items. Ibotta had a $2 rebate on the Nutella and a $2 rebate on the shampoo plus .25 on any other item. $4.25 back from my grocery trip–that paid for my gas y’all. Click here to sign up for Ibotta.
Have you downloaded my morning prayers? I really think you should.
Confession time. I've fallen off the wagon with my morning prayers. I hate it when I do this–meaning this isn't the first time. When I pick up my prayer journal back up, I'm always amazed at the beauty of the prayers. This isn't because of me, I based these prayers on the the most beautiful words ever written–the Word of God. So today, I open my prayer journal and pray, "Lord, I pray to be Your faithful servant today. This is the day You have made for me. I will rejoice and be glad in it! This day will go according to my attitude and thoughts do please help me make Your thoughts my thoughts." This prayer for myself, one for my husband and one for my children–all based on Scripture are available as a free download for email subscribers of The Littlest Way. Click the temporary link in my profile to download them and if you already have, I'd love for you to tag me in a picture of your prayer binder/journal. #adayinthelife #nowisnow #nowisgood #itsabeautifullife #joyfilledlife #scripture #wordofgod #Godfirst #goodmorning #itsagreatday #bible #thewordofGod #encouragement #prayer #prayersofamother #catholicmom #catholic #prayerbinder #prayerjournal #thelittlestway #prayingscripture #scriptureprayers
