Welcome to the Daybook. A weekly post here at The Littlest Way where I gather all the ordinary things that happen or are happening in my day to day. Things like what I’m reading or listening to, eating, cleaning, and learning. These are the small moments that make up my blessed daily life and I want to remember them. My prompts may change depending on season and circumstance.
Thanking God for…
::6 weeks post surgery and all is still well
::my girls wanting to go to a lovely conference with my sister, The Idea of a Village, and having a blast
::taking the kids swimming at our friend’s pool down the road and visiting time for me
::Chris taking the kids on a grand adventure digging for crystals last week
::trying and loving a new skincare line–my first ever “skin care line” (more to come)
::a new washing machine and refrigerator–yes, they both went out at the same time
Praying…
So many things. I’m praying to get back here consistently. I miss this space and the friends I share it with. I’m praying, as always, for my children. This world, the constant noise and pull away from the good, true and beautiful. A society that considers “decent and fine” good enough. My own struggles with the things I’m praying for my children.
Pondering…
I am constantly pondering what “it” all looks like and what fruit “it” is bearing.
Listening to…
The Guineas are outside my office window right now chattering, the younger kids in the kitchen and JJ Heller radio on my Amazon Prime music. (Try Amazon Prime 30-Day Free Trial)
Reading…
Elizabeth Foss has a Bible study out, Consider the Lilies, and I have a review copy. I am forever indebted to Elizabeth and her feminine wisdom. There is not another woman in this earthly world who has influenced me as a woman, wife, mother, homeschooler, Catholic, and friend as much as she has.
Bible Journaling…
I’ve continued to verse map my way through Philippians. I will have the “Write.Read.Study.Pray” printable available in the resource section for email subscribers today. I know I said that last week and all I can do is beg grace.
Around the House…
We have lived here 13 years and maybe caught one mouse in all those years. In the last week, we’ve caught 15! I have no idea what is going on? Hopefully, we’ve caught them all before they start haying the fields around our house because that can make it worse. UGH!
In the Kitchen…
I made a strong Trim Healthy Mama meal plan for this week. Not only is it a plan for this week, I am trying recipes where I can make one and freeze one. I’m also rereading the book with a Facebook group–I need to remember my blood sugar why.
Diffusing
I made a Facebook video the other day sharing some of my new essential oils from Edens Garden. (You can read here why I purchase my essential oils from Amazon instead of a distributor.)
The Littlest Way
I spent time last week designing some Catholic Planner Stickers from photographs I’ve taken and shared here on The Littlest Way. As soon as the shop section of my site is set up, they will be available–I’m thinking some time this week.
Our Domestic Church…
If you are looking for an easy, I mean super-simple way to stay in touch with the Church liturgically, please read the saint for the day. The kids and I use this book, Lives of The Saints: For Everyday in the Year and have for years. A short paragraph or two so it doesn’t take too long for mommas with squirmmy little ones or jam packed schedules. It connects us with the universal Church, sets a holy example before us and reminds us of our heavenly friends.
Saving Money…
I mentioned above we had to buy a new washing machine and refrigerator this week. A couple of things concerning the financial aspect. When I had a horrible lemon of a front loader and was on a first name basis with our repair man, he told me my next washing machine needed to be a Fisher and Paykel or a SpeedQueen. He said the average life of a washing machine for an average size family (which we are not) is only 5 years at best. He said a Fisher and Paykel or SpeedQueen should last us 20 years and if it did need a repair, it’s simple enough we wouldn’t need a repair man, just a Youtube video. We purchased a SpeedQueen with money I’ve saved from affiliate sales here on The Littlest Way. THANK YOU. Your support and Chris’ example of saving money kept a huge burden off us. I still have thousands of dollars in medical bills from my surgery and Luke’s broken wrist and being able to use the money saved from here was a true gift. Second, when we purchased the refrigerator from Lowes, we purchased the five year warranty. We had purchased the warranty with our old washing macchine and all the repair calls were completely covered under the warranty. Eventually, realizing we had a lemon, Lowes purchased the machine back from us all because of the warranty.

So glad your kids got to go with your sister to the conference, my husband was there. I thought about going also but our little one has been sick for about a week, glad they enjoyed it.
Also I’m very happy to hear you are doing well.
God bless you friend!
