Welcome to the Daybook. A weekly post here at The Littlest Way where I gather all the ordinary things that happen or are happening in my day to day. Things like what I’m reading or listening to, eating, cleaning, and learning. These are the small moments that make up my blessed daily life and I want to remember them. My prompts may change depending on season and circumstance.
Growing up I listened to people tell me I was fat, unwanted, unliked, selfish, “lucky,” meaning everything I accomplished was just dumb luck. As a young adult, I believed them. These voices were no longer from others…they had worked their way in and become a part of my inner voice. And then in a period of crisis and self-hatred, I sought a different voice. A voice that would encourage me to live. A voice that could only come from the One who knew me best because He had created me. This voice told me I was wonderfully made (Psalm 139), I was God’s temple and His Spirit was inside me (1 Corinthians 3), I was an heir to the kingdom of God (Galatians 4), I was God’s friend (John 15), I was a new creation (2 Corinthians 5), I was a child of God (John 1), God had good plans for me filled with hope (Jeremiah 29), I was a conqueror (Romans 8), I was the apple of God’s eye (Psalm 17), I was God’s workmanship created for a purpose (1 Peter 2), that I was created to bear good fruit (John 15) and not just some lucky bystander. Who are you listening to today? What are they saying? Take their words and run them through the above verses. If they don’t match up, you are listening to the wrong voice. #Godfirst #nowisnow #nowisgood #iam #childofGod #affirmations #scripture #bible #wordsarepowerful #encouragement #lifelessons #truth #thinkaboutit #anxiety #worry #fear #scriptureaffirmations #dailyaffirmations #bibleverse #wellwateredwoman #lampandlight #womenintheword #goodmorning #jesuslovesme #catholic

For my children especially. Here is the prayer I composed to pray for them in general–Prayer Journal Prayers
I’m pondering what’s worth my time and emotional energy and what’s not.
When my older children were younger we listened regularly to Classic including these “teaching” CD’s, Music Masters. We need to get back to this discipline.
I need to do a post about my Bible reading habits now. I realized about a month ago my Bible reading was slow going because I was studying as I read. There’s nothing wrong with that, but I needed something else. I purchased a One Year Catholic Bible and read from it each day with no pen or paper. The purpose of this Bible, for me, is just to get the Word into me each day. This is strictly quantity verse quality. Quality is when I study, verse map or journal.

The newest Bible Journaling Kit from Illustrated Faith is my absolute favorite!
The new Illustrated Faith monthly Bible journaling kit is out and for real this time, this one is definitely my favorite. Look at the washi! I would totally buy this kit for that delicate floral washi alone. But more important than washi and stamps and stickers is knowing who we are, who God says we are. Years ago when I was struggling…and I don’t mean kind of struggling, I mean scarier than you know what struggling, I had to start to convincing myself God knew what was going on with me and cared about it and me. These convincing conversations became my positive affirmations–based in His Word. This new devo echoes some of those intimate conversations…Day 1–Fear Has No Place in Me, Day 4–I Shall Not Be Moved, Day 11–I Have a Hope and a Future. #illustratedfaith #DaySpring #biblejournaling #journalingbible #scripture #wordofgod #Godfirst #Godisgood #bible #thewordofGod #encouragement #light #womanoftheword #lampandlight #iam #childofGod #washi #warbinder #brandambassador
Around the House…
I mentioned above I had a question and answer with my children the other day using the prompts from Organized Simplicity. As we were answering what we felt the purpose for each room was, I had an epiphany when I got to the laundry room! Our laundry room has a door that goes into the garage and on the other side of the room, a door that goes out to the back porch–these are the 2 doors we as a family use. We either park in the garage or in the barn and use one of the two doors to get into the house. I had the revelation that our laundry room is the room that welcomes us into our home. It doesn’t look like a welcoming, entry room. I’m changing that. The first thing I did was buy a small Aloe Vera plant to put in the window. Next I want to buy a welcome mat that is beautiful and more importantly machine washable.
In the Kitchen…
I did so well last week doubling a meal as I was cooking it and freezing it. Sunday I made some THM Lemon Pucker Gummies for snacks and my sister made some Chia chocolaty sweets.
Still applying Harmony as perfume in the morning and still able to tell the mornings I forget. (You can read here why I purchase my essential oils from Amazon instead of a distributor.) Also, Edens Garden has a new comparison chart so if you’re looking for a similar oil to what you’re used to using but would rather spend less money, check out this Comparison Chart.
A Great Blog Post
I’ve fallen off the gratitiude wagon again. As a help to myself, I’ve been sharing posts and articles about the benefits of keeping a gratitude journal over on my Facebook page.

The Feast of Sts. Peter and Paul is coming up this week as well as the Feast of Our Lady of Perpetual Help.
Trying to double a meal as I cook it so I can freeze one.
