Welcome to the Daybook. A weekly post here at The Littlest Way where I gather all the ordinary things that happen or are happening in my day to day. Things like what Iβm reading or listening to, eating, cleaning, and learning. These are the small moments that make up my blessed daily life and I want to remember them. I would love to read your Daybook, just leave it in the comments section below. You can use my prompts or make up your own to include items important to you; mine change depending on season and circumstance.

::choosing my book for Lent–Conversation With Christ: The Teaching of St. Teresa of Avila About Personal Prayer
Praying…
I have some very big prayers God is calling me to say right now. Chris and I actually made a stop into the Adoration before Mass to pray. We’re almost finished with the petition part of our 9-week novena to Our Lady of Guadalupe and then we’ll start another 9-weeks in thanksgiving.
I’m not sure what Lent will look like around here. It’s obvious by my posting and lack of posting I need a serious break. But I am also impressed with the idea to spend some time here encouraging myself and anyone else to pray in earnest for our husbands and children.
Pondering…
“You don’t become a praying parent by default; you do it by design and by discipline. Your prayers for your children are the greatest legacy you can leave.”
–Mark Batterson, Praying Circles Around Your Children
Listening to…
“Outskirts of Heaven” is stuck in my head. But Anna told me she’s pretty sure the outskirts of Heaven is Purgatory. I may be re-thinking my love for this song.
I’m getting ready to trade my hillbilly music in for Lent at Ephesus.
Reading…
We’ll start reading Reflections on the Passion Wednesday. We’ve read this every year at night before family prayer for a number of years. The reflections are fairly short, easy to understand and real.

Bible Journaling…
Everyone was sick at some point this week. I thought it was just allergies but then I think it turned into something else. Needless to say my Bible journaling didn’t happen.
Around the House…
I am a reluctant essential oil fan now. Maybe reluctant is a bad choice of words, I was definitely a skeptical late-comer to the world of essential oils. Now, I wear Joy or Uplift as perfume. The other night Leo couldn’t stop coughing in bed, even after a breathing treatment so I dabbed a little Peppermint and Lavender on his ankles and he didn’t cough one more time until the next morning! I’ve been putting Fighting Five on my sickies feet and I just ordered this cleaning oil to make my own non-toxic cleaning solution. (You can read here why I choose to buy my oils from Amazon.)
In the Kitchen…
I need to grocery shop today so I will be working on a Lenten menu. Tuesday is our Shrove Tuesday Party! We provide breakfast casserole, lots of pancakes with whipped topping, fruit and syrup and our friends bring meat or dessert.
A Great Blog Post
My Favorite Thing to Do for Lent I like the simplicity of this one, plus it fulfills one of the spiritual works of mercy.

Hi, I am not sure about purgatory as I can not find a reference to it (in the bible). What do you think?…and thank you for mentioning the “Makeover Mornings” ! It is so helpful
Jenny says
Hi Lainey, I also cannot find a specific reference mentioning the Trinity (in the Bible) but I believe in both the Trinity and Purgatory. I’m glad Make Over Your Mornings is helpful to you π

I love that song also. I appreciate Anna’s concern but I think he appreciates God’s creation down here and knows that God will have a wonderful front porch in heaven for him.
And I too am a late comer to essentia oils. Still learning.
God bless you with a beautiful Lent. Thank you for sharing.
