Daybook: Online Journal
Praying for…
I am praying for an old friend. Life sometimes has way of taking you off course.
Pondering…
I am pondering this post, How 936 Pennies Will Forever Change How You Parent. I think the thing that struck me was considering my 16 year old. If I were to start a jar for her and then take out the number of pennies for her age, the original jar would hold fewer pennies than what I took out. Gosh the days seem so long some days…but they really are extremely short.
Listening to…
The washing machine, the wind chimes on the porches–the cold front has moved through. I’m also loving this version of “Amanda” by Chris Stapleton and this version of “The Power of Love”–I prefer this one to the original song of my teen years.
Reading…
My Bible
Daily Advent Devotional for Women
I know Advent starts today and the book starts on December 1st. The book is meant to follow along with the family Jesse Tree readings that begin the 1st. Yes, I know when Advent starts and yes, I intentionally set the devotional to begin on the first. I wanted the family Jesse Tree devotions to dovetail with the personal devotions in the Daily Advent Devotional for Women.
In the Kitchen..
We have some meat for our freezer! We also just paid our end of year home and insurance taxes. We will probably have spaghetti, chili, sloppy joes and tacos this week.
Around the House…
It’s amazing how chaotic our schedule is still, even with Chris home! There is always something to be folded, washed, cleaned, mopped, tidied, etc.
Looking Ahead…
more hunting, school, chores, piano, soccer, chop wood, put out hay…

I was touched by the “pennies” story…Imagine if we applied it to our own lives. What a challenge to value each penny and use it well…
