This Lent Devotional for Women is all about prayer wimps, persistent love and using the magic words with God so we don’t leave anything on the table.
This Lent Devotional for Women is going to rock your ever loving world! That’s right, we’re talking all things love and why the enemy will go after this all the blessed time! Look, if the enemy can shake our love and our knowledge of God’s love–He Wins. The short and sweet, God is love, not a feeling.
The theme of love and forgiveness continues in this Lent Devotional for Women. And maybe not surprising at this point, we consider loving and forgiving ourselves. It’s only when we love and forgive ourselves that are we able to extend that charity to others.
If you want to begin praying the Psalms this Lent, let me suggest a great little book–My Daily Psalms Book: The Perfect Prayer Book. This little prayer book has all the Psalms organized like they are when prayed in the Divine Office–they are organized by day as well as time (Matins, Lauds, Prime, Terce, Sext, None, Vespers, and Compline). This would be a good introduction to someone wishing to pray the Office, but maybe not having the time yet. You could at least get into the habit of praying the Psalms of the Office.
If you fall, rise and you shall be saved. You are a sinner, you continually fall, learn also how to rise; be careful to acquire this wisdom. This is what the wisdom consists in: learning by heart the psalm, ‘Have mercy upon me, O God, after Thy great goodness,’ inspired by the Holy Spirit to the king and prophet David, and say it with sincere faith and trust, with a contrite and humble heart.
For those of you who frequent The Littlest Way, it should come as no surprise I begin looking at devotions for Lent by starting in the scriptures. I have committed this year to reading the Bible in a year as well as Bible Journaling.
