Our Lent Devotional for Women is still in the ‘Pre-Lent’ stages, setting a foundation, getting ourselves ready for the soul work about to take place in our devotions for Lent. Just like we wouldn’t begin a strenuous race without preparations, we shouldn’t jump into Lent either. Let’s start with dusting.
A couple of years ago my sister and I each decorated a canvas to hang in our homes. Mine started out being a “Family Rules” canvas. After I was finished and hung it on our wall, a visiting priest commented on how it read more like a nightly “Family Examen” rather than a “Family Rules” board.
We’ve used it “officially” as a nightly examen after family rosary, but lost the habit some where along the way. I regret that and have vowed to pick it back up. Not only pick it back up, but tie it to the Word of God…win-win.
We’ve made it to Holy Saturday in our Lent Devotional for Women and this day is one of the most confusing of all year for me. What am I supposed to be doing? Am I stuck in sorrow because Our Lord is dead or, since I know the ending, am I anxiously awaiting Easter Sunday?
In today’s Daily Devotions for Lent, as part of our Lent Devotional for Women, we take up a daily affirmation–at least for this Holy Week. We take up a battle cry, “I will not resist God!” determined to finish this Lent strong. The finish line to Easter is in sight, we can do this!
Today’s Lent Devotional for Women is an attempt to get back on track. Fortunately? I get off track so much I know God can help me back onto the tracks and with Him, I can do all things…even if I have to start over and over. We’ve still got a lot of Lent left, get back up and let’s try again.
This Lent Devotional for Women is a reminder, everything counts as nothing compared to knowing Jesus. I give you three steps to continue, carry on, and remain strong, not only this Lent but through life my friend. Three simple steps and free printable.
