Welcome to My Daybook Online Journal. A weekly post here at The Littlest Way where I gather all the ordinary things that happen or are happening in my day to day. Things like what I’m reading or listening to, eating, cleaning, and learning. These are the small moments that make up my blessed daily life and I want to remember them. My prompts may change depending on season and circumstance.

Introducing "Della". Let me try to tell her story in one post. My husband needed a new truck for years and is patient enough to search for almost 3 YEARS until he found exactly what he was looking for this summer. Which btw turned out to be a brand new truck at a better deal than a used truck; his patience was rewarded! But we now have a car payment which we haven't had for years. My beloved 08 Suburban acts up every once in a while, we fix her, she behaves for a bit, repeat. 2 weeks ago the mechanic said fixing her is no longer worth it or cost effective. Enter used car shopping. I HATE car shopping (and furniture shopping). I'm not patient enough for the process, the salesmen, the comparing, etc. We were also in NO WAY prepared to have to purchase a car so soon after Chris bought his truck. Everything in our price range was scratched, worn, and used with a capital U. Increasing our price range would increase the financial burden and stress…but the cars were nicer. (Yes, said with some definite whine.) And then yesterday morning I was faced with wanting one thing, like a fancy Nissan Armada (which I've decided is my dream car) or an immaculate, one owner, clean Carfax, below our price range Toyota Highlander whose gas milage is almost double what I've been getting or would get. And my husband said it was my choice. And as much as I love the Armada…I LOVE Chris and his peace of mind more. (Almost double the gas milage is a tiny bit exciting even for this mathematically challenged girl!) Now for the name. Hold on bc I'm going to give you a quick glimpse into my brain. Brainstorming names the kids mentioned Trigger, and Silver. Chris said Silver Bullet. Maybe Bullet? Maybe a family name Grace or Fern? Maybe a song? Jolene, Amie, Layla, Sally? Maybe Felicity which means Joy? Other names were Dolly, Prudence, Thelma Lou. Maybe something that would remind me we bought it in December. Thinking about Christmas made me think about the 3 Wise Men which made me think Magi which made me think of The Gift of the Magi and the woman's name was Della. ❤️If you don't know the story PLEASE read it!

Bible in a Year: Your Daily Encounter with God
This is my “quantity” Bible to make sure I get the Word inside me each and every day.
Catholic Journaling Bible and the Inspire Catholic Bible NLT: The Bible for Coloring & Creative Journaling
These are my study and journaling Bibles.
* I’ve written an ebook to guide you through the whys and hows to get started with Bible Journaling, Bible Journaling Tips, Inspiration and Permission, and to encourage and inspire you in your Bible journaling!
I’ve had (and still have a cold) this week and my Bible reading has suffered. Here are a couple of notes I’ve taken, but not many.
Who do I seek guidance from? Someone among the living or the dead? If someone is contradicting God’s Word they’re in the dark, not living in friendship with Jesus and so their advice and guidance are void.
1 Peter 4:2
I want to be consumed with what brings pleasure to God.
Around the House…
We are hosting my husband’s family for Christmas dinner this year so ummm…a lot will be happing soon!
In the Kitchen…
It’s cold, I have a cold, it’s been fend for yourself.
Hot Epsom Salt baths with essential oils are a must in the winter time for me and especially when I have a cold. I’ve also been encouraging myself to drink! I swear I’m a camel with how little I drink!
(I used to purchase my essential oils from Amazon or Edens Garden instead of a distributor. You can read my thoughts on why here, “Where I’m From…” I’ve since decided I don’t have the time or resources to properly educate myself on using the oils to their fullest potential. That’s why I signed up with Young Living under a former Family Practice Physician.)

I miss this space and I need to get back into the routine of posting here. I post regularly on Instagram, now to get back here, get back home.
Our Domestic Church…
It’s Advent and this year has looked pretty different than years past. My Advent devotions and preparation have been slowly evolving. I’ll share more in a blog post–it might not be pretty and some might find it controversial, but trust me when I tell you I think it’s pretty good y’all.

I've decided of the 5 Love Languages mine is number 6, " " which encompasses and combines the other love languages in one. ❤️Physical Touch Hug me long and hard or rub my arm when we hug bc you I need the extra touch. ❤️Words of Affirmation Encouraging me, let me you see the things I've been struggling with or growing through, tell me you notice I've been working out or my scar is healing nicely. ❤️Receiving Gifts my favorite candy and buying it for me, bringing me a red "flower" from the field bc you I love the color red, sharing a new song, having a plan or taking charge of the situation, I like a yummy coffee drink. ❤️Quality Time that I need to be listened to and heard and making time for me, let me you hear me, that I need to look at you to talk to you. ❤️Acts of Service when I need to lighten up and laugh, coming alongside me to help, ignoring my tone or intensity bc you I don't mean it and helping me time it down or change it. See, I'm not just one of the Love Languages…I'm ALL of them! I consider this tremendous growth in self confidence and boldness! I'm learning who I am and how I feel loved at different times and in different ways and then appreciating when I'm being loved on and by who.
