Welcome to My Daybook Online Journal. A weekly post here at The Littlest Way where I gather all the ordinary things that happen or are happening in my day to day. Things like what I’m reading or listening to, eating, cleaning, and learning. These are the small moments that make up my blessed daily life and I want to remember them. My prompts may change depending on season and circumstance.

In Psalm 91 David makes some declarations about the Lord and it made me wonder, "What do I declare about the Lord"? First, let's define "declare"–say something in a solemn and emphatic manner. [Archaic]–express feelings of love to someone. From the Latin translated as "to thoroughly make clear" And the list of synonyms (my favorite ) is impressive! So we know what the Psalmist declares in Psalm 91, we know the definition, root, and synonyms for the word, now it's our turn. Ask yourself this question today… ❓What do I declare about the Lord? Here's the first thing that came to my mind, ' . You can share your answer below ⬇️ but please, at least write this question and your answer somewhere today.
I have been listening to this song, Promises, first thing every morning since I found it last week! It’s a great way to start the day.

Our Online Bible Study Community is reading, writing, praying, and studying the Book fo Job right now. It sounded like a good idea pre-pandemic, lol! Job is kind of a tough book to love. As one of the girls said, “I just want to slap ’em all!” And we’ve all agreed it’s tough to tell who’s talking and who’s the bad guy or the good friend! I’m positive the only thing keeping some of going is the fact that we’re reading it together and meeting weekly on Facebook/Zoom to discuss it.
Around the House…
We…and by “we” I mean Veronica because she’s patient and meticulous enough, has been painting! We’ve painted the living room, dining room, entry hall, and kitchen. The color I chose is a beautiful creamy white, Swiss Coffee. It looks so clean, fresh, inviting, and bright without screaming bright white!
I want a big picture to go above the bookshelf in the living room and just thought I’d find something at Hobby Lobby once they open back up but instead, Veronica has this gorgeous picture she took here on the farm! We’ve played with some editing to make it soft and creamy looking and now I just need to have it made into a large canvas. It’s going to look amazing! Remind me to show you when we get it.
In the Kitchen…
Oh my goodness. Who else wants a big ‘ol date night with chips and queso!??! We go between fruit smoothies and salads to frozen pizza and tater tots…you too?
It’s almost like the movie Groundhog Day every morning around here when I put on essential oils or load up the diffuser. I am just amazed at the power oils have on the body. Citrus oils are guaranteed to lift our mood, Frankincense smooths anxious or grumpy emotions, etc. Did you realize it only takes 22 seconds for essential oils to reach the brain, 2 minutes into the bloodstream, and 20 minutes to the whole body!
(I used to purchase my essential oils from Amazon or Edens Garden instead of a distributor. You can read my thoughts on why here, “Where I’m From…” I’ve since decided I don’t have the time or resources to properly educate myself on using the oils to their fullest potential. That’s why I signed up with Young Living under a former Family Practice Physician.)

In case you need the reminder… You can love Jesus and all your people and still need a break. In case you need permission… It's ok to sit on your porch alone and tell them all to stay inside. It's ok to sit in your car alone while you eat a snack or sip a favorite drink. Friends, it's ok if things are hard, yes, even the day after Easter. It's ok if you're angry, confused, or sad. It's ok if you're not even sure what you're feeling, if you're feeling all the things or if you're not feeling a dang thing. And if you need a friend to come alongside you and tell you it's ok…YOU'RE OK, well, I'm that friend. But… I'm not giving you permission to have a pity party or wallow around in all those icky, confusing feelings. I'm beside you to agree with you…things are hard. I'm beside you to remind you…you can do hard things. I'm beside you reminding you, I might be a good friend to you, but we know Someone better. I might be the friend to remind you that you're strong, but our friend Jesus, He's the only one who can renew your strength. I might be the friend to sit with you in your weakness, but our friend Jesus, His strength is made perfect in your weakness. I might be the friend to tell you I love you, but I'm not sure either one of us would be willing to die a horrific death for the other? Just being honest. But our friend Jesus, girl, His sole purpose on this Earth was to die for us. I might be the friend to hold your hand, but only long enough to place it in the hand of Jesus. He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless. +Isaiah 40:29
