I’m going to get a jump on all the New Year goal setting rush. I’m starting to keep myself accountable by setting monthly goals here on The Littlest Way. I’m so glad to have you all to help keep me accountable; first there’s the Book Club Time so I will actually read these books sitting on the shelves, then there’s Bible reading and affirmations. I run my own little self Jenny group it seems. So this post is my Goal Setting: November 2014 post.
Goal Setting November 2014
Personal
::Write 10 things I am thankful for every day
::Bless each one of my children every night before bed
::Spend 30 minutes every day in my Bible
Physical
::Drink 64oz of water every day
::Stick to the Trim Healthy Mama eating plan
::Get outside every day
::5 pictures with my camera (not phone) everyday
Parenting
::Work on not raising my voice.
::Read at least 30 minutes each day (morning devotions during breakfast and read aloud during lunch)
::Read one of the parenting books sitting on my shelf. (To be decided, the baby’s asleep in there or I’d go get it now.)
Homemaking
::Make my bed everyday
::Thoroughly clean one room top to bottom a week
::Organize the pantry
::Switch out summer/winter clothes
Each day there is more encouragement and even some laughs over on my Facebook page. Head over and “Like” me there for more.

Jenny,
As you can see, I’m working backwords! This is exactly the post I was looking for!! Way to go, thinking about goals back in Nov. It’s Jan. 9th and I’m just getting started!
Rach D says
Easy and manageable! Love it 🙂 Goal setting & having accountable (like on this blog) are such great ways to create a momentum of small positive changes in our lives. Awesome!
Visiting from Inspired By Me Mondays; hope to see you again this week, Rachael at Diamonds in the Rough
Jenny says
Thanks for the visit Rachael. I posted these goals for the month, but I think weekly will actually work better for me.
Sarah says
What great goals! Mine is more like, “Survive.” 🙂 That’s not quite true, but the goals I made are blog-related. Everything else is just about getting back to normal. Blessings to you!!
Clare says
Wow! You put me to shame! I especially like the “not raising” your voice…and “blessing the children”…Hmm, I can apply that where I live in my community…
Sarah says
Great idea to put it on your blog! I think I’ll try something similar soon. Since I started 31days, I’ve gotten so wrapped up in writing I’ve forgotten about. . .well, everything. Heading over to your book club page to check it out.
karissa says
Great goals, I hope you complete them all.
Emily says
Great goals! I’m starting to think about my New Years Resolution already. Last year, I chose a word that would describe my year (Pursue), and I’m just not sure what I want to use for 2015.
Jenny says
I need to start thinking and praying about my word for the year. This year it is Delight, but I keep forgetting it, lol! Not a good sign I think.
Nancy says
Good goals to be working on!
Jenny says
Thanks Nancy. I’m already behind on my water and read aloud time for the day, ugh!
Angela Pea says
Okay, about the clothes switching thing…is is really cool enough yet? I started to flip my closet, then realized that we could be in the mid to upper 70’s again this week, so I left it alone!
I HAVE, however, started clearing out the girls’ room to make way for Mom Pea. It’s a sad-sweet task, for sure. The only things left in the room are remnants of their girlhood; I am so thrilled that they are now wonderful, strong and faithful adults, but I also miss the beautiful little girls that they were not so very long ago.
Jenny says
I’m sure as soon as I start and then finish the process of flipping seasonal clothes, we’ll be looking around for summer clothes because you know…”If you don’t like the weather, wait a minute,” as Will Rogers said.
I can see what a sad–sweet task that would be. Your daughters are lovely young ladies and I need you to come visit and give me a parenting teen girls intensive training course…please.
Jessi Fearon (@TheBudgetMama) says
I LOVE your goals Jenny! I especially love how you break them out – you’re awesome sauce! If there’s one area I really need to work on it is reading daily devotionals to my kids. I read my Bible every morning but fail to read anything related to Jesus to my kids…sad I know. Adding this one to the goals list! 😉
Jenny says
I think though Jessi I may need to break my goals into weekly instead of monthly. I’m too busy or have too short an attention span to only do monthly goals.
I find the best time to read to my children is during breakfast or lunch.
Stefanie @ Calledhis.com says
Love it! These are totally, totally doable too!!
Jenny says
Thanks for the encouragement Stefanie. Um, I’m already waaayyy behind on the water goal for the day!
Tara says
What great goals! I love that you want to bless your children every night. That is such a beautiful gift. I am reminded of Deuteronomy 6:4-9. Look it up! 🙂 Have a great day!
Jenny says
Hi Tara. Lover that verse! I bless them using something I read in The 4:8 Principle, one of my favorite books next to the Bible. “NAME, you are a beautiful, wonderful, child of God and dad and mom love you, always and forever, no matter what.”
Barbara Deatherage says
Wonderful goals and how brave you are to post them publicly! I’m not sure I’m there yet.
Jenny says
Sure you are Barbara. We can all learn from each other, whether it’s accomplishing something or not quite making it.
Skye says
Good call on not waking up the baby to pick a parenting book to read! 🙂
Jenny says
Irony at it’s finest, lol!
Natalie Busch says
I have similar goals. I definitely have tried to work on the camera vs phone thing. I will say the one goal that I have crossed off is that we FINALLY switched out summer clothes. It’s a good thing since we had our first snow!
Jenny says
Wow, first snow! We’re not there yet, but it has been cold and rain is expected which makes it even colder for the kids when they go take care of animals.
