Welcome to How to Live the Little Way. A weekly post here at The Littlest Way where I gather all the ordinary things that happen or are happening in my day to day. Things like what I’m reading or listening to, eating, cleaning, and learning. These are the small moments that make up my blessed daily life and I want to remember them. My prompts may change depending on season and circumstance.
Thanking God for…
::prayers answered before they were prayed
::recognizing a spiritual attack
::peanut butter on a spoon
::3 months of working out
::shopping at Goodwill
::a friend’s birthday party
::friendship with Jesus
::our Online Bible Study Group
::good soccer weather
So many hard and painful prayers right now. But…prayers of thanksgiving in other areas–a reminder that God is still good, all the time.
I found a new playlist on Spotify, Pursuing Jesus. It has quickly become one of my favorites!
Bible in a Year: Your Daily Encounter with God
This is my “quantity” Bible to make sure I get the Word inside me each and every day.
Catholic Journaling Bible and the Inspire Catholic Bible NLT: The Bible for Coloring & Creative Journaling
These are my study and journaling Bibles.
And I just picked this one, A Mind of Your Own: The Truth About Depression and How Women Can Heal Their Bodies to Reclaim Their Lives Candace at Mercy is New has been talking all about it on social media. Although I don’t suffer from depression, I know many who do.
* I’ve written an ebook to guide you through the whys and hows to get started with Bible Journaling, Bible Journaling Tips, Inspiration and Permission, and to encourage and inspire you in your Bible journaling!
I’m working through a 90 Day Reading Plan from YouVersion. Not only am I behind, but the plan doesn’t include the Apocrypha so it will take longer than 90 days–so what! I’m reading the Word consistently and that’s what matters. Here are some recent notes from my reading.
Proverbs 15:8-9…Character of God
Psalm 118:8…I will look in triumph bc the Lord is for me
Psalm 106:44…Even So…
Psalm 106:43…AGAIN AND AGAIN…but they CHOSE…and they were FINALLY
Around the House…
We soft start school tomorrow, meaning math and the reading the kids need to have completed before co-op starts. Yes, we joined a local co-op after 15 years of homeschooling and yes, I am still an introvert. But this isn’t about me, this will be so good for my kids.
In the Kitchen…
I need to cook from my pantry and freezer this entire week. Wish me luck! I have a friend who can throw together a spectacular meal using only the pantry and freezer and it doesn’t take forever; I need those skills.
(I used to purchase my essential oils from Amazon or Edens Garden instead of a distributor. You can read my thoughts on why here, “Where I’m From…” I’ve since decided I don’t have the time or resources to properly educate myself on using the oils to their fullest potential. That’s why I signed up with Young Living under a former Family Practice Physician.)

I needed to step away from a lot of things the past two months. It wasn’t that hard if that tells you how necessary it was. It was a good break and I appreciate being able to take the time. My family appreciates me being able to take the much needed time away. Don’t discount the amount of spiritual attack good work brings whether it’s nurturing a Christ-centered home or leading an online Bible study and everything in between.
