Welcome to How to Live the Little Way. A weekly post here at The Littlest Way where I gather all the ordinary things that happen or are happening in my day to day. Things like what I’m reading or listening to, eating, cleaning, and learning. These are the small moments that make up my blessed daily life and I want to remember them. My prompts may change depending on season and circumstance.

Thanking God for…
::a Saturday off from soccer
::grocery shopping day
::celebrating Bridget’s birthday
::yummy chicken pot pie (we made one regular and one Trim Healthy Mama using a biscuit recipe for the topping)
::working a 10 day part time job for a little extra cash to cover medical bills
::one of Veronica’s friends offering to drive her for an MRI on her ankle
::Chris talking cows, sheep, and hay
::today being the first day in four days I haven’t had to take pain reliever for my sore throat
We finished our 9-week rosary novena last night. Three of the secven of us are/were sick. We still prayed it as a family and finished it! Also, please remember Chris and his family, his uncle died rather suddenly this past week. We will attend his funeral this week.
Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord and may perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and all the souls of the faithful departed rest in peace. Amen.

I have quirks, tendencies, and habits. My old OB/GYN knew this about me. He had been my doctor for 20 years before he retired. He knew me well. He knew my fears and anxieties because in a medical situation, we tend to be very forthcoming with them. Every time I saw him, through pregnancies or yearly check-ups, I didn't have to go through the whole story of me because he knew it, he knew me.⠀ ⠀ That's how I feel about regular confession with a regular confessor. I know this isn't for everyone. I have friends who would prefer to remain completely anonymous in the confessional. I on the other hand, appreciate the familiarity of one confessor. ⠀ ⠀ After a while, the little peculiarities that are unique to my soul alone begin to sift themselves out and it's easier for the priest to discern sin from bad habit and vice versa.⠀ ⠀ But more important than a regular confessor is a regular confession. If we go once a month, that means we go 12 times a year. Twice a month would be 24 times a year.⠀ ⠀ There is no progress to be made in any area of life without frequent evaluation. An athlete striving for greatness will seek the wisdom of a coach or trainer to see what adjustments–no matter how slight, need to be made to improve their game. ⠀ ⠀ A soul striving for greatness will seek the wisdom and counsel offered in the confessional–no matter how slight, to improve their life.⠀ ⠀ ⠀ 💡⠀ “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I am sending you.” Then he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive anyone’s sins, they are forgiven. If you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.”⠀ +John 20:22-23⠀ ⠀ "Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results."⠀ +James 5:16
Do you have a confession schedule? We try to go every two weeks. Sometimes it turns into three weeks due to whatever, but our goal is every two weeks.
I’m listening to some of the songs off the soundtrack for “A Star is Born.” Have you seen it? I’m super intrigued. I remember watching the old one with Barbara Streisand and Kris Kristofferson. I just finished listening to “Is That Alright”
I want you
To look right in my eyes
To tell me you love me
To be by my side
I want you
At the end of my life
Wanna see your face
When I fall with grace
At the moment I die
Is that alright?
Is that alright?
The One Year Bible – Catholic: NLT
This is my “quantity” Bible to make sure I get the Word inside me each and every day.
Catholic Journaling Bible
This is my study Bible.
Did you catch my recent post comparing the two Catholic Journaling Bibles? Click here to read more. Also, someone asked about the paper quality and thickness. I cannot believe I forgot to include that info. I’ll post a video this week about the paper and how well it holds up to pen and highlighter.
Around the House…
I haven’t felt well for a number of days and I worked Friday and Saturday late evening so…there’s tomorrow to get all the things back in order.
In the Kitchen…
Today while I wasn’t feeling well I flipped through almost the entire Trim Healthy Table cookbook getting new ideas. There are so many great recipes I am completely under utilizing!
Right now since I’m sick self care looks like lots of rest, fluids, and cold things to eat since I have an awful sore throat. And Anna has been running the diffuser non-stop!
(I purchase my essential oils from Amazon or Edens Garden instead of a distributor. If you’re not an Amazon Prime member with FREE shipping, Edens Garden has FREE shipping all the time in the US.)
Our Domestic Church…
Anyone else starting to think of Advent? Just me?
Although I hate grocery shopping at multipe stores; it confuses my mind. I cannot deny that shopping at Aldis first and then Walmart saves us money.

I had the thought this week, my greatest joy in this life has been God's gift of asking me to help bring 7 souls into this world and teaching them about Him. If I'm thought of or remembered for nothing else, this will be enough. 💭 Children are the supreme gift of marriage and contribute greatly to the good of the parents themselves. God himself said: "It is not good that man should be alone," and "from the beginning [he] made them male and female"; wishing to associate them in a special way in his own creative work, God blessed man and woman with the words: "Be fruitful and multiply." Hence, true married love and the whole structure of family life which results from it, without diminishment of the other ends of marriage, are directed to disposing the spouses to cooperate valiantly with the love of the Creator and Savior, who through them will increase and enrich his family from day to day.163 CCC
