Welcome to How to Live the Little Way. A weekly post here at The Littlest Way where I gather all the ordinary things that happen or are happening in my day to day. Things like what I’m reading or listening to, eating, cleaning, and learning. These are the small moments that make up my blessed daily life and I want to remember them. My prompts may change depending on season and circumstance.
* I’ve written an ebook to guide you through the whys and hows to get started with Bible Journaling, Bible Journaling Tips, Inspiration and Permission, and to encourage and inspire you in your Bible journaling!
Thanking God for…
::seeing our girl on the field even if only for warm-ups
::watching some great soccer Friday night
::Chris and Luke home safely
::Anna learning with me/teaching me about essential oils
::Maximilian snuggling with me
Lord the list is long…and hard…and did I mention llooonnnnggggg?
I’m pondering how we do things the wrong way, meaning contrary to God, and yet expect right results, and are sad/upset/discouraged/mad when we get those results. We can’t openly mock Him and expect His blessings on our sin.
The dryer tumbling and a couple of little boys playing who should be doing other things. I’m also listening to Dr. Edie Wadsworth in her private Facebook group for her Young Living group. I have an entire post I need to update on why, after saying I wasn’t going to sign up with an essential oil company, I then decided to join Young Living. For now, the shortest and sweetest answer I can give you is this, Dr. Edie was a practicing family physician who now teaches others the benefits of using essential oils from a medical doctor’s perspective. To me, this is the best of both worlds! And yes, I do have a link if you’d like to join me and Anna as we learn more about oils from Dr. Edie. See, Anna prompted all this. She started reading more about oils and then she found Dr. Edie on Facebook for some monthly challenge she had about getting your life back on track and her love and interest grew from there.
The One Year Bible – Catholic: NLT
This is my “quantity” Bible to make sure I get the Word inside me each and every day.
Catholic Journaling Bible
This is my study Bible.
I have challenged myself to read one book this month, in its entirety and one book next month, in its entirety! I have this awful habit of starting a book and then another and then…and never finishing any of them. I will finish at least two books before the end of this year!
I’ll link back up to my Catholic Journaling Bible Comparision post for you. I know many of us are starting to think Christmas–either for ourselves or others and this post will be helpful.
Speaking of Christmas, remember, if you use my Amazon Affiliate link to shop at Amazon, I can earn a small profit from any purchases. This link takes you to my storefront and then just shop and search from there.
Around the House…
My desire for a spotless house is overrun by my desire for a hot bath, a comfy spot to read, a warm blanket, and then a nap. That being said, I wrote out a plan for the week using my Day Designer Hourly Planner.
In the Kitchen…
I need to meal plan tonight and get my list together so I can shop tomorrow. My sister and I have declared a “No Cheat November” that starts today–it’s just how we roll! The beginning of October I went through the THM Cookbook and listed out some great meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I need to find that list and pull from it.
I mentioned above I/Anna and I just signed up with Young Living because I want to learn more about the effective uses of oils but I don’t have the time or the brain power most days to read and research. We’ve been watching and learning from Dr. Edie and decided to join this morning!
We’re moving into the time of year when sickies are all around and we want to keep our immune systems healthy and strong–especially our college kid who lives in a building with a bunch of sickies!! This time of year we also struggle with dry skin, some of my children more than others. We also love warm, comforting, and inviting smells in our home but can’t stand the thought of burning candles–I’ve known this since my big kids were babies, that’s why we’ve never burned many candles over the years.
(I used to purchase my essential oils from Amazon or Edens Garden instead of a distributor. If you’re not an Amazon Prime member with FREE shipping, Edens Garden has FREE shipping all the time in the US.)
The Littlest Way
Over the weekend I refreshed a popular post, Bible Verses About Patience. I’m turning it into a one-stop reference page where all my posts on verses about patience will be linked.
Our Domestic Church…
I’m turning my writing attention towards Advent as well. I have a free Advent Devotional for Women that is a popular download every year.
I’ve been closely watching Zulily for some Christmas shopping sales. So far I’ve purchased rain boots, magazine subscriptions, and clothing at super discounted prices! If you’d like to sign up with Zulily let me know and I’ll send an invite; I can earn a small credit when you do.
I call this one “Friday Night Lights.” A group of us ran up to Benedictine Friday night to watch the opening game of postseason play–they’re going to Nationals!!! And stopped by the grotto on our way out.
