Welcome to the Daybook. A weekly post here at The Littlest Way where I gather all the ordinary things that happen or are happening in my day to day. Things like what I’m reading or listening to, eating, cleaning, and learning. These are the small moments that make up my blessed daily life and I want to remember them. I would love to read your Daybook, just leave it in the comments section below. You can use my prompts or make up your own to include items important to you; mine change depending on season and circumstance.
Thanking God for…
::being a part of my children’s lives
::friends I’ve met through blogging
::Kelli and Crystal, Sarah, Candace and other bloggers who teach me how to be a better blogger and business owner
Oh my goodness what am I not pondering right now! I feel like I need one more week of 2016 so I can be “officially” ready for 2017. I’m pondering being a better steward of my time and talent. I’m pondering what I need–like some dedicated quiet time and space to think things through.
My best friends in the whole wide world–my washer and dryer–doing their thing.
I’ll be posting shortly about my 2017 Reading List. I’ve never put one together before and as a result, I read–or don’t read. And yet I buy more books. I pulled down a bunch of books from my shelf I need to read and purchased a few the last week of December. These will be my booklist for the year.
Remember, I’m only using the Illustrated Faith Bible Journaling Kits and Supplies. Here’s a recent entry with an explaination again of why I’m doing this.
Psalm 27:13-14–“This I believe: I shall see the goodness of Yahweh, in the land of the living. Put your hope in Yahweh, be strong, let your heart be bold, put your hope in Yahweh.” In 2017 I’ve committed to only using the Illustrated Faith Bible Journaling Kits and supplies and the New Jerusalem Readers Edition Bible. I want to show how simple and uncomplicated Bible journaling can be, especially for those who don’t consider themselves artistic or don’t have a true journaling Bible. Around the House…
I’m reading Building Your House: A Faithful Mom’s Guide to Organizing Home and Family and my sister is reading The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up: The Japanese Art of Decluttering and Organizing. I think it will be great to put what we’re gleaned from each together.
In the Kitchen…
I could probably pull the post around this time from the last two years and it would say the same thing, “Eating off the Trim Healthy Mama plan is not worth it to me.” So why do I do it?!? I forget I started eating this way for my health and not my weight.
Joy and Purify. Here’s a link to my post about why I chose to purchase my essential oils through Amazon.
A Great Blog Post
And I’m also pondering (see above) this post, Ask Auntie Leila: 10 Rules for Mothering a 13-year-old Boy. Especially her “Golden Principles of Parenting:
“Reacting is not a parenting technique! You are the adult. You act.
Don’t seek affirmation from your children. You are the adult. You get affirmation from doing what’s best for them. Attitude doesn’t bother you.
Don’t be surprised when things are not perfect!”
The Littlest Way
Over on my Facebook page for The Littlest Way, I shared a GREAT post! I’m going to start asking not only my kids, but also Chris these questions.
Our Domestic Church…
This Friday is the Feast of the Epiphany. Here’s a great link with more information, recipes, and crafts.
Chris and I are seriously getting back on the budget bandwagon. Our money doesn’t work for us if we don’t! I also need to start budgeting for The Littlest Way.
