Welcome to the Daybook. A weekly post here at The Littlest Way where I gather all the ordinary things that happen or are happening in my day to day. Things like what I’m reading or listening to, eating, cleaning, and learning. These are the small moments that make up my blessed daily life and I want to remember them. My prompts may change depending on season and circumstance.
Thanking God for…
::rain–I know I list this one frequently, but when you have animals and hay fields, rain is important
::spending Easter with my sister and her family
::Chris cracking me up on the way home from Mass
::my older girls helping their little cousins
::having a Mexican dinner for our Easter meal–Margaritas included!
::listening to old hymns
::Anna finding a Prom dress
::not getting arrested because we walked out of Macy’s without paying for my youngest daughter’s Easter dress! We quickly returned and paid for it. We were totally out of our element shopping at the Mall!
Praying…
I have got to make an updated prayer journal video! I’m praying the prayers I composed, the prayers found in Mother Love, a couple of prayers from Deliverance Prayers: For Use by the Laity and praying the Scriptures.
Pondering…
This past week I’ve read the corresponding Psalm and Proverbs for the day. I’ve shared over on Instagram some of my reflections concerning our words and our friendships.
Listening to…
Alan Jackson, Precious Memories: Vol. II
Reading…
My large print Bible
The Miracle Morning: The Not-So-Obvious Secret Guaranteed to Transform Your Life (Before 8AM)
Bible Journaling…
I’m reading Shanna Noel’s book, 10 Ways to Fall in Love with Your Bible and Stay in Love. I like that right up front she shares her struggle with Bible reading through the years. I’ve just started it last week so I’m not far enough in to form an opinion yet–I’ll let you know. I will say this, if as a Catholic reading a quote from Martin Luther bothers you–which is ok, this book is not for you.
Around the House…
Hopefully Veronica can get my bathroom painted repainted. She painted before the tile was in for the shower and once in I didn’t like the color. Thankfully it’s a small enough area and we still had the front room to paint, that she can fairly easily repaint this.
My new surgery date is a week away so I’m trying to get things in order.
In the Kitchen…
I need to get some easy meals frozen to help my older girls out in the kitchen when I’m recovering from surgery.
This goes along with my Saving Money at the Grocery Store Post. I wanted a new purse–we’re talking a $13.99 Walmart purse, not an expensive purse. The last two weeks Aldis has had their butter on sale for $1.99 a pound. Walmart’s butter is $3.97 but they accept the Aldis price as a competitor ad. The ad says limit 6 so I bought 6 last week and 6 this week and bought myself a new purse with the money I saved! We also have over $100 dollars in our Ibotta account waiting to be transferred to our paypal account. I use this money to pay for our monthly Netflix subscription.
Diffusing
Last week I diffused Purify and Harmony. (You can read here why I purchase my essential oils from Amazon instead of a distributor.)
The Littlest Way
I’ve been sharing some old blog posts over on my Facebook page. A “One Year Ago” or “Two Years Ago” type of thing.
Our Domestic Church…
we thoroughly enjoyed reading Amon’s Adventure: A Family Story for Easter. We’ve read and LOVED all the Advent books by the author and his Lent/Easter book did not disappoint.
