Welcome to the Daybook. A weekly post here at The Littlest Way where I gather all the ordinary things that happen or are happening in my day to day. Things like what I’m reading or listening to, eating, cleaning, and learning. These are the small moments that make up my blessed daily life and I want to remember them. My prompts may change depending on season and circumstance.
Thanking God for…
::Chris’ fatherhood
::the example of my Father in Law
::a family movie day–we watched Hidden Figures. It was very good, but why the need for the sprinkled gratuitous language?
::taking Anna to a 5K run–at 5am on a Saturday
::thoughts, ideas, dreams and ponderings
::rain
::a dentist who allows us to make 7 cleaning appointments back to back on the same day
Praying…
I’m tired. I don’t really feel like telling God how I want it done this week. He knows my heart, mind, and soul–a “please…thank-you or help” will be sufficient.
Pondering…
All the things–wife, mother, homeschooler, writer/blogger, friend, sister, child of God…
Listening to…
I just found Hoopla. I’m going to give my hand at audio books. I’m not an auditory learner so this may be an exercise in futility, but it will not have cost me anything.
Reading…
My large print Bible
Bible Journaling…
The new Illustrated Faith Bible journaling kit is almost available (I got a sneak peek) and it’s definitely my fav.or.ite!
Around the House…
I cleaned out/cleared out my closet last week. I took all the Winter clothes and put them in a trash bag on my closet floor. Next, I pulled out all the clothes I haven’t worn in a while and put them in another bag on the floor. If I don’t miss them in a couple of months, I’ll donate them to Catholic Charities.
In the Kitchen…
This week’s dinner plan–all are Trim Healthy Mama and make 1 freeze 1:
BLT Frittata–S (pg 74)
Wacha Want Mex Ckn–E (pg 47)
Cowboy Grub–E (pg 59)
Smarty Pants Stroganoff–S (pg 44)
Beans and Rice–E
Diffusing
Through laziness and forgetfulness this week, I didn’t apply Harmony every morning. I can tell. My family can tell. (You can read here why I purchase my essential oils from Amazon or Edens Garden directly instead of a distributor.)
A Great Blog Post
Lately when I come across a great blog post or an interesting article, I share it on my Facebook page, The Littlest Way.
The Littlest Way
Every single week since my surgery I think I’m going to get back to regular posting. Friday marked 7 weeks and I’m still not back to a regular posting schedule. Maybe this week and I appreciate your patience.
Our Domestic Church…
This Friday is the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. My conversion/reversion when I was in my early 20’s began with reading a book about devotion to the Sacred Heart. PLEASE, if you have not enthroned your home to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, please do so.
“When we enthrone (display) the image of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in a prominent place and signify that Jesus is the King, friend, and brother of the family, we are responding to the invitation of the Church to make our homes “Domestic Churches”, wherein Jesus is the center and source of love for all. As the sanctuary church lamp reminds us of Christ’s presence in the tabernacle, the enthroned image of the Sacred Heart reminds us that Jesus is among us and with us. By this covenant, we make our homes and hearts His tabernacle.”

Saving Money…
It’s time to set back down and rebudget…and then stick to it! Medical bills and two new appliances have taken a toll on our finances.
