Welcome to the Daybook. A weekly post here at The Littlest Way where I gather all the ordinary things that happen or are happening in my day to day. Things like what I’m reading or listening to, eating, cleaning, and learning. These are the small moments that make up my blessed daily life and I want to remember them. My prompts may change depending on season and circumstance.
Thanking God for…
::Chris’ wisdom telling me to ignore things that really have nothing to do with our family
::my girl’s honesty
::standing in the kitchen visiting with Anna over a yummy sweet treat
::seeing the cows in the field
::our new priest and deacon hitting it out of the park their first Mass together
::two new Aloe Vera plants
::a little Q&A with my children using the questions from Organized Simplicity
::taking the kids to see an outdoor movie in the park–Sing, it was great!
Praying…
For my children especially. Here is the prayer I composed to pray for them in general–Prayer Journal Prayers
Pondering…
I’m pondering what’s worth my time and emotional energy and what’s not.
Listening to…
When my older children were younger we listened regularly to Classic including these “teaching” CD’s, Music Masters. We need to get back to this discipline.
Reading…
I need to do a post about my Bible reading habits now. I realized about a month ago my Bible reading was slow going because I was studying as I read. There’s nothing wrong with that, but I needed something else. I purchased a One Year Catholic Bible and read from it each day with no pen or paper. The purpose of this Bible, for me, is just to get the Word into me each day. This is strictly quantity verse quality. Quality is when I study, verse map or journal.

The newest Bible Journaling Kit from Illustrated Faith is my absolute favorite!
Around the House…
I mentioned above I had a question and answer with my children the other day using the prompts from Organized Simplicity. As we were answering what we felt the purpose for each room was, I had an epiphany when I got to the laundry room! Our laundry room has a door that goes into the garage and on the other side of the room, a door that goes out to the back porch–these are the 2 doors we as a family use. We either park in the garage or in the barn and use one of the two doors to get into the house. I had the revelation that our laundry room is the room that welcomes us into our home. It doesn’t look like a welcoming, entry room. I’m changing that. The first thing I did was buy a small Aloe Vera plant to put in the window. Next I want to buy a welcome mat that is beautiful and more importantly machine washable.
In the Kitchen…
I did so well last week doubling a meal as I was cooking it and freezing it. Sunday I made some THM Lemon Pucker Gummies for snacks and my sister made some Chia chocolaty sweets.
Diffusing
Still applying Harmony as perfume in the morning and still able to tell the mornings I forget. (You can read here why I purchase my essential oils from Amazon instead of a distributor.) Also, Edens Garden has a new comparison chart so if you’re looking for a similar oil to what you’re used to using but would rather spend less money, check out this Comparison Chart.
A Great Blog Post
I’ve fallen off the gratitiude wagon again. As a help to myself, I’ve been sharing posts and articles about the benefits of keeping a gratitude journal over on my Facebook page.
