Welcome to the Daybook. A weekly post here at The Littlest Way where I gather all the ordinary things that happen or are happening in my day to day. Things like what I’m reading or listening to, eating, cleaning, and learning. These are the small moments that make up my blessed daily life and I want to remember them. My prompts may change depending on season and circumstance.
*August 17, 2016 Update: I’ve written a book, Bible Journaling Tips, Inspiration and Permission, to encourage and inspire you in your Bible journaling!
Thanking God for…

::my sister’s openness to life through foster and adoption
::Chris and the kids working around the farm
::blue fingernail polish
::Croc flip flops
We are finishing up our thanksgiving novena this week for Veronica’s college discernment and trusting the money will come through. I’m praying for each of my children to acknowledge and accept the gifts God has given them and to use them, all for His glory. I’m just praying for and about life. Things get hard sometimes.
This must be my year for people to accuse me, lay it all out and dump on me in emails. Look y’all, you don’t have to send me a lengthy email telling me everything I’ve done wrong and listing all the ways I’ve offended you. If you don’t like me here on The Littlest Way, on social media or in real life–unsubscribe, unfollow or unlike me. And, technology is such, that you don’t even have to tell me about it. You can do it quietly and be on your merry way. I’ll post later this week, please God, on fraternal correction, but let me just say now, it does not involve blaming or name calling.
We have added two new songs to our morning playlist, Bulletproof and The Comeback.
The One Year Bible–Catholic: NLT Translation
For me, this is a great translation for daily reading to get the Word inside me. It is a looser translation and not for one who wishes to do serious study–I think.
If you want to start Bible Journaling but aren’t really sure what supplies you want or need, I would highly suggest purchasing a Bible Journaling Kit from Illustrated Faith. They come with everything you need to get started and decide, “Do I like stamps, stickers, washi? All?”
Around the House…
I think we’re starting school next week, at least an introduction week. Most of my children are already doing math, I need to get the two older girls started. We’ll pick back up our “Morning Time” and listening to sermons during our lunch break. All that said, we need a big, deep clean this week to get ready.
Our dishwasher tried to catch on fire last week. Thankfully we have learned, at least with our family, that buying the warranty is totally worth it! Last year Lowes bought us out on our wahing machine–after 4 years it just kept needing repairs. Now, again at 4 years, they are replacing our dishwasher. Our repair man–sent our by Lowes free of charge to us because it’s covered under warranty–told us most major appliances only last about 5 years now for the average family.
In the Kitchen…
Did I mention Anna realized sugar was making her face break out more? Well, she convinced Veronica to give up sugar for one week to see if it affects her face as well. So now I have two daughters eating the Trim Healthy Mama way, at least temporarily. And these girls love sweet treats and they share with me…Love!
I picked back up my use of “Harmony” last week. I need it and I can tell the difference. (You can read here why I purchase my essential oils from Amazon instead of a distributor.) Next, I need to purpose to take better care of myself this week: water, walking and stretching, reading and rest.
A Great Blog Post
Come see me on Facebook where I share all the good reads I come across.
Our Domestic Church…
Tomorrow is the Feast of the Assumption–a Holy Day of Obligation and Wednesday is the Feast of St. Joachim, Mother Mary’s daddy and Jesus’ grandpa. I’m sure we could think of ways to honor our dads and grandpas on this day!
Buy my groceries, look for rebates, take a picture of my receipt, earn money–so far over $200.
My new bracelet from @pinksaltriot "Do brave deeds and endure." Sometimes that's all we can do right? I believe showing up every day is brave. And I believe making it to the end of the day is endurance. And both are to be celebrated. So when you crawl into bed tonight, do not even feel defeated. You are a champion of this day! And please God, you'll get the chance to tackle tomorrow too. #adayinthelife #nowisnow #nowisgood #itsabeautifullife #joyfilledlife #brave #encouragement #light #womanoftheword #catholicmom #soccermom #momofboys #momofgirls #momofteens #thismoment #holyordinary #lifeisbeautiful #lifeisgood
