Welcome to the Daybook. A weekly post here at The Littlest Way where I gather all the ordinary things that happen or are happening in my day to day. Things like what I’m reading or listening to, eating, cleaning, and learning. These are the small moments that make up my blessed daily life and I want to remember them. My prompts may change depending on season and circumstance.
Thanking God for…
::safe travels to and from Texas for soccer
::cooler weather
::beautiful sunset
::soccer parents stepping in with a hotel room and ride home
::Chris and Anna keeping things going while I travel with Veronica
Praying…
Goodness, we never seem to run out of things or people to pray for do we? Family, friends, situations, needs, wants, and desires. I really want to use my prayer journal more, but I’m hesitant to write all the prayers down–they’re deeply held momma prayers and they’re fluid. I’m not sure I want a record of everything. On the other hand, I want a record of God’s goodness in answering even the smallest prayers.
Pondering…
Honestly, per usual, what am I NOT pondering.
Listening to…
Cicadas outside, children disagreeing in the kitchen after soccer practice, cleats on the kitchen floor, Leo asking for a piece of gum.
Reading…
The One Year Bible – Catholic: NLT
Anchor: God’s Promises of Hope to Parents
I started reading Unseen: The Gift of Being Hidden in a World That Loves to Be Noticed
And I’ve been listening to The Lifegiving Home: Creating a Place of Belonging and Becoming on Hoopla.
Bible Journaling…
The 70% off Summer Sale on Illustrated Faith Bible Journaling products ends tonight (9/5/17) I would highly suggest the Christmas Bible Journaling Kit. It’s lovely and can be used to decorate Christmas cards and packages as well as prayer and Bible journaling.
Around the House…
I was in Texas for 3 days instead of 4. Thankfully Chris and Anna and the rest of the kids kept things like laundry going and the house picked up. We’ve officially started back full force into school so balancing school, home, and writing are also in full force.
In the Kitchen…
I need to grocery shop, end of story.
Self Care
What a difference a year makes. Last season when we traveled, I used the hotel soap and shampoo. This season, I travel with my skin care products from L’BRI. On a L’BRI note, Anna’s face is completely clear of acne. She’s now just using the Time Erase to heal the scarring. In addition to traveling with L’BRI, I also take along a few essential oils: Lemon, Peppermint, Lavender, Goodnight (I get a good, hard sleep when I use this oil), Digest Ease, and Head Ease. (You can read here why I purchase my essential oils from Amazon instead of a distributor.)
A Great Blog Post
This post is resonating with a number of people, “As You Grow, So Should Your Dresses.”

A Daybook post from one year ago. Looks like I had been sitting on the soccer fields then as well!

Saving Money…
I need to do a better job of budgeting for soccer travel.
