Welcome to the Daybook. A weekly post here at The Littlest Way where I gather all the ordinary things that happen or are happening in my day to day. Things like what I’m reading or listening to, eating, cleaning, and learning. These are the small moments that make up my blessed daily life and I want to remember them. My prompts may change depending on season and circumstance.
Thanking God for…
::getting a short visit in with a dear, dear friend/father figure/grandparent figure
::the farm all nice and cleaned up
::ordering a new camera that takes video (We’ve been watching old home movies and wishing we still had a video camera. I questioned my dad, who is camera smart, about a good one that is relatively inexpensive.)
::Chris’ wisdom
::crockpot meals
::beautiful weather
Praying…
There are some things I need to accomplish here on The Littlest Way before the year’s end. I pray I work hard, smart, and consistently. We’re in the home stretch of the thanksgiving part of our 54 Day Novena for college money. And of course my children, always my children.
Pondering…
Trusting our instinct. Chris and I have taught our kids to always, and I absolutely mean always, to trust their gut. We have told them to trust their gut even if nobody else has the same feeling, even if others tell them “it’s no big deal.” I truly believe this is a divine gut check, a nudge by the Holy Ghost or our Guardian Angel. I also truly believe many people ignore it, excuse it away or take others opinions for it and override their own feelings.

The One Year Bible – Catholic: NLT
Bible Journaling…
Illustrated Faith has a new Bible Journaling Kit out, Word Nerd. I love the whimsical journaling cards and ephemera and die cuts.
Around the House…
It’s Fall! I would like nothing more than open all the windows but Chris especially, and a couple of kids suffer with Ragweed allergies.
In the Kitchen…
I’ve made at least half a dozen meals from the new Trim Healthy Mama cookbook, Trim Healthy Mama’s Trim Healthy Table: More Than 300 All-New Healthy and Delicious Recipes from Our Homes to Yours, and they have all been BIG winners!
Self Care
I’ve started walking on my treadmill again–listening to a playlist I made on Amazon Prime, (Try Amazon Prime 30-Day Free Trial), a book on Hoopla or a sermon on Youtube.(You can read here why I purchase my essential oils from Amazon instead of a distributor.) On the days I don’t walk I try to do a Fitness Blenders workout video. These are free on Youtube and include everything from simple stretches, Pilates, weight training, and cardio–even low impact.
The Littlest Way
::One year ago today on The Littlest Way we were considering Bible Quotes About Patience: Psalm 27:14
::Two years ago today we were considering Bible Quotes: How Does God Feel About Me? This is still one of my favorite posts because I LOVE the free printable. This printable hangs in both of our bathrooms as a constant reminder.
::Three years ago, The Fear of the Lord.
Our Domestic Church…
I love the month of October! The calendar is packed full of amazing Feast Days. Today, in the Traditional calendar, is the Feast of the Holy Guardian Angels. Tomorrow, October 3rd is the Feast of St. Therese the Little Flower–Happy Feast Day to us! Wednesday the 4th is the Feast of St. Francis of Assis–a perfect day to go to the zoo! The 7th is the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary and Sunday is the Feast of St. Bridget of Sweden–I think we may start the year long prayers of St. Bridget on this day.
Saving Money…
Do you shop at Aldis? I’ve tried but for some reason mind just doesn’t get it. But I hear so many people who swear they save a ton of money shopping there. I’m going to give it another try this week.

You are so welcome! I think the younger kids and I are going to start saying them this Sunday. My older girls said them a few years ago. It’s a commitment and I am so impressed they did it and especially at a young age.
