Welcome to the Daybook Journal. A weekly post here at The Littlest Way where I gather all the ordinary things that happen or are happening in my day to day. Things like what I’m reading or listening to, eating, cleaning, and learning. These are the small moments that make up my blessed daily life and I want to remember them. My prompts may change depending on season and circumstance.
* I’ve written an ebook to guide you through the whys and hows to get started with Bible Journaling, Bible Journaling Tips, Inspiration and Permission, and to encourage and inspire you in your Bible journaling!

Praying…
I keep saying this because I keep feeling this…there is always so much to pray for and so many people who are carrying such heavy crosses that need prayers. New prayers added for one of my sister-in-laws and her children.
Pondering…
My OB/GYN (he delivered all the kids) and his wife came out to Veronica’s party yesterday. I was talking to his wife about parenting adult, almost adult children and she had some wise/hilarious advice. She said to keep the lines of communication open and a continuing relationship it’s best to stick to three responses: “Uh-huh…cool…bummer.” I love these! And have already found so much of it true. I tell Chris I sometimes feel like a “Bobble Head” parent. Imagine a bobbling head answering, “Uh-huh, oh yeah, oh man, uh-huh…” when talking to older children. Chris’ wise advice has always been, we’ve given them a good foundation. He also says, “They don’t want our opinion because they already know it, especially on things they know we disagree with.”
Listening to…
Bernadette is here for six days and is on the piano any free minute she has. The piano has always been therapuetic for her. Right now she’s playing “Tell Your Heart to Beat Again.”

Around the House…
Since we had a party yesterday, the house is ‘party ready.’ Any bets on how long that will last, lol! I shared this post on Facebook the other day because I needed the reminder. Our home was built in 1984 and is really starting to show wear and tear. We are the second family to live here. The first family raised three daughters and we are raising seven children. I’m having to remind myself this home is a haven; the previous owners and children are in town every couple of years and always call to see if they can stop by. I love that! So yes, the interior is outdated and every year for the last couple years we’ve babied the air conditioner along (it’s the original!!), and the counters are old formica, but it’s our home and I don’t want to begrudge it’s security for style.
In the Kitchen…
Did you know you can order six-foot-long sub sandwiches from Walmart? I wanted to keep Veronica’s party super simple so we ordered a six-foot-sub from Walmart, bought two cookie trays from Sams, and had various chips for party food. It was so easy! Self Care
Friends, I am still enjoying moving my body. I have no idea if I’ve lost weight or not, I refuse to get on a scale because it tends to be a liar. And the way my clothes fit hasn’t really changed that much, but I have definition in my arms and legs I haven’t had before! I’m still using the Fitness Blender videos and my treadmill.
(I purchase my essential oils from Amazon or Edens Garden instead of a distributor. If you’re not an Amazon Prime member with FREE shipping, Edens Garden has FREE shipping all the time in the US.)

Our Domestic Church…
May is the month traditionally dedicated to honoring Mary. The kids and I are reading the BEST book for the month of May! I wish this book had been around when my olders were younger. It’s Marian Consecration for Children and it pulls from classic liturature as well as tradition and practical examples and stories.

Captured…

Oh, yes. Adult children. We love them just as much as ever, but have to let them fly on their own. But you never stop loving, caring, worrying, praying, guiding (when asked). It’s a slippery slope sometimes. The best approach I have found to take….is a closed mouth and a heart open to prayer on their behalf : CONSTANTLY. They understand so much more of their parents after getting out into the great big world – Oh, and especially when they have littles of their own! Sometimes they even apologize, and then ask how we did it! I feel they do become our friends in a way it was not possible when they were younger and under our wing. That’s a nice plus.

I realized one of the reasons I enjoy your posts is because of your candor regarding thoughts, feelings, hopes, dreams, not just for yourself, but your wonderful family as well. Your sense of humor shines through, and I find myself chuckling at your comments because I recognize myself there, too. In short, I appreciate you. Thanks, Jenny!
