Welcome to The Daybook here at The Littlest Way. This is a post where I gather all the ordinary things that happen or are happening in my day to day. Things like what I’m reading or listening to…eating and cleaning and learning…These are the small moments that make up my blessed daily life; and I want to remember them. I would love to read your Daybook, just leave it in the comments section below. You can use my prompts or make up your own to include items important to you; mine change depending on season and circumstance.

Thanking God for…
::prayer–the ability and desire to be in friendship with God
::Chris–if I get to heaven it will be in a large part due to him
::green grass in August
::couch cheering with my family as we watch the Olympics
Do you ever feel like there are so many prayers…such big prayers, that you don’t even know where to start? That you don’t even know if you can pray? So you feebly say, “You know” to God until you can.
My baby Leo is going through a growth spurt…nooooo! But he still calls grocery carts “carpets.” I don’t know where it got it but I have threatened everyone in my family that they better not correct him!
My large print Bible
I need to get back in the habit of reading this.
Hello lovelies! ******************************************** “I designed this Bible Study and Journal to be loved and used no matter the educational background or time constraints. I asked specific questions and use a Bible study acronym for those who like some well-defined boundaries in the study instead of a large blank journaling page. I also included lots of white space for those who process words and ideas better when they have room to stretch out and be creative.” ****************************************** So, when should we launch these babies out into the big, virtual bookstore we call Amazon?
I’m thinking about a September 8th launch–Blessed Mother Mary’s birthday. But in the meantime, you will want to make sure to stop by this Wednesday. I have a surprise that will help you out as you read your Bible.
Around the House…
I bought an Insta Pot 6-in-1 Programmable Pressure Cooker. It arrived late Friday morning–I have used it three times already. In other news, I think we will start our new school year next Monday…and all the children said, “Amen.”
In the Kitchen…
Friday I made Lentil Rice Casserole in my new Insta Pot…yum!
Cook for 4 minutes then add: (but be careful opening the Inst Pot or you’ll get a steam burn on your forearm–just sayin’)
2c dry lentils
8c chicken or vegetable broth
2 very rounded tablespoons chili powder
2 teaspoons cumin
1 rounded tablespoon onion powder or dried minced onion
1 teaspoon garlic powder
Cook for around 22 minutes. Serve with shredded cheese, salsa and tortilla chips. This is one of my favorite Friday meals.
Our Domestic Church…
Today is the Feast of the Assumption of Mary. Luke serves Mass today and maybe I’ll make a sweet treat–something white with blue? White cake with blueberries?
You guys, I thought once we paid off our house we’d have all this “free” money. In reality, I realized we were robbing our Emergency Fund pretty regularly, which means there is no “free” money floating around. As a matter of fact, I’m having to budget even more now. We’ve had a couple of big expenses hit us this month: life insurance premiums for Chris and I both due this month, ordering school books, a hospital bill from a procedure Chris had done months ago, I ordered two Christmas gifts (Kindle Paperwhites) when they were on crazy sale for Amazon’s Prime Day, plus a necessary new computer for school.

Wouldn’t it be great if Leo could test out of Third grade because he spent all his time watching Maximilian do his school, lol!
