I mentioned in this post about being smart enough to read your Bible that after sifting through email and messages I found a couple of common “questions, concerns, and cried of complaint” as an old teacher used to say. I broke these questions, concerns, and cries of complaint down into internal and external problems. I wanted to see if there was a way in our community we could tackle our most common fears, hesitations, and outright obstacles when it comes to reading our Bible. I think we can. Scratch that, I know we can. I am going to encourage you, share the importance of, and then show you how to join a Bible Study. **Enrollment has now closed for July.
Now, this may sound funny coming from an introvert wannabe hermit, but Christians need a Christian community. And Christian women need a Christian women’s community. And those of us who want to read our Bible regularly need a regular Bible reading community. These are fact and I’m sure I could find legit statistics if pressed but all I really need to know is this, “And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.” Hebrews 10:24-25
And this, “Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up! Again, if two lie together, they keep warm, but how can one keep warm alone? And though a man might prevail against one who is alone, two will withstand him—a threefold cord is not quickly broken.” Ecclesiastes 4:9-12
And this one, “For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.” Matthew 18:20
We’re struggling because we’re alone. And you might say, “I’m not alone, I belong to large, active church with a dynamic women’s Bible study group with yummy snacks!” I respond by saying, “Great for you!” But speaking from personal experience, put me in a group of women I’m going to see every week, whether at Bible study, church, the grocery store or the school pick-up-line, and I might prefer the role of listener and cookie eater rather than active participant. Add my dental hygienist, church secretary, and mother-in-law to the group, and I might not dig deep into my soul because I’m too concerned about hiding my hot mess self from them. But, put me behind my computer screen, wearing my pajamas if I want, and I start digging deep into myself and sharing all sorts of revelations.

**Enrollment has now closed for July. So let’s do it girls! Let’s commit to spending the month of July in community reading the Book of Philippians. Not only reading but digging deep into the Word of God and ourselves. Years ago we spent time in Philippians and it’s time again. Philippians is my life-reset book of the Bible; it’s sometimes referred to as “Paul’s Letter of Joy.” I know when my mind, body, and soul feel like they’re just dragging along, or I’m lacking some clarity, direction, and peace–my joy is usually running on fumes and it’s time for a reset.
This private group is going to have everything we need in our joy reset. There are printable worksheets to use as we work through Philippians, chapter by chapter. There is a “Write the Word” plan so that each day we write a few verses of Philippians–by the end of July we will have written the entire Book! There are two Bible Journaling and Verse Mapping videos showing you step by step how I dig into a set of scriptures using either my Journaling Bible or a composition notebook–I’ll show you both ways. We will also meet in community once a week in a private Facebook Group for a live video just for this particular study. There will be frequent prompts and notes of encouragement dropped in there as well. Oh, and you’ll also get a lovely lock screen for your phone and desktop.
**Enrollment for July is now closed. Click here to be added to the August waiting list. I’m only opening this July community up until midnight June 30th. I’m doing this because the amount of time and effort I’ve put into this study and the amount I know that you will want to put into it deserves some respect in time and place. Meaning, we don’t want people wandering in and not knowing where we are, what we’ve covered, and what we’re doing–that’s not fair to us or them. I want us all to come in at the same time, the same place, and get settled so we can get to work.

Hope to see you soon!
