Welcome to the Daybook. A weekly post here at The Littlest Way where I gather all the ordinary things that happen or are happening in my day to day. Things like what I’m reading or listening to, eating, cleaning, and learning. These are the small moments that make up my blessed daily life and I want to remember them. My prompts may change depending on season and circumstance.

Praying…
I’m praying for an easy and successful surgery this week–no physical, mental or emotional complications. I’m praying for an easy and quick recovery as well. I’m also praying for you…us…me…our families. It is hard to live and do and be in a world where we have an enemy prowling about, waiting for an opportunity to trip, tempt and try to destroy us.
Pondering…
“Something we rarely remember is that the holier we become, the more powerful are our prayers. The closer we are to the Heart of the Trinity, the more efficacious will be our petitions and supplications. So, become a saint! Saints, who have a deep and abiding friendship with Christ, possess an overflow of graces that can be applied to those around them. You’re called to holiness anyway, so how beautiful that your sanctity can influence the salvation of your son!”

Listening to…
Maximilian and Leo are playing Legos, someone is in the pantry looking around and I’m not hearing the washer or dryer which means time to move the laundry around. Musically, I listen to the Andrew Peterson radio on Pandora almost every morning right now. He is probably one of my favorite artists.

Around the House…
This week I’m going to try to get all things ready for my upcoming surgery–cleaning, food, schedules, fun things for younger children to do while momma is resting and recovering and older sisters are doing school. This is also an incredibly busy week according to the calendar.
In the Kitchen…
We’re taking a meal to the kids piano teacher today–she had hand surgery last week. I hope to freeze a couple of meals and breakfast casseroles before surgery. I do have teens who can cook, but I’d like to help the meal time hustle with a few freezer meals.
Diffusing
Sunshine Spice as perfume and Harmony in the diffuser. (You can read here why I purchase my essential oils from Amazon instead of a distributor.)

Our Domestic Church…
The month of May, traditionally dedicated to the Blessed Mother Mary, is quickly approaching. Many people choose to make a Total Consecration to Jesus during this time. Here’s a simple, straight forward book–33 Days to Morning Glory: A Do-It-Yourself Retreat In Preparation for Marian Consecration Here’s some more resources for the month of May.
Saving Money…
Having the Flu can be expensive! Leo, Luke and I were the only ones to go to the doctor or emergency room although all of us had the Flu a month ago. Leo’s emergency room bill was the most expensive with chest xrays and breathing treatments. After insurance, our bill came to a little over $1300. Chris told me to call the billing department and ask if I paid in full today could we receive a discount. I called, I asked, they gave me a 10% discount! It never hurts to ask. The worst that can happen…they say “no.
