Welcome to the Daybook. A weekly post here at The Littlest Way where I gather all the ordinary things that happen or are happening in my day to day. Things like what I’m reading or listening to, eating, cleaning, and learning. These are the small moments that make up my blessed daily life and I want to remember them. I would love to read your Daybook, just leave it in the comments section below. You can use my prompts or make up your own to include items important to you; mine change depending on season and circumstance.

Praying…
I would say I was praying for clarity, but after reading Emily’s post, One Question I Ask Myself Before I Pray for Clarity, I’m not sure what to pray. I know I need some direction and some space to think. But I have so many things I want to think about. Does that make sense? It feels kind of like when you need to yawn and you can’t.
Pondering…
“Consistent daily prayer often demands an all-out spiritual battle.”

The New Jerusalem Bible, Reader’s Edition
I finished another book on my audacious 2017 Reading List, The Hour That Changes the World: A Practical Plan for Personal Prayer. I really liked this book. It had lots of good information, questions I asked myself and practical suggestions. There was nothing anti-Catholic and only one disparaging mention of being “religious” at the very end of the book.

Y’all! Illustrated Faith has this new Organization Bag and Kangaroo Pouch that I LOVE! Not even kidding. I may carry this as my purse, for real. It’s made of this matte oilcloth–have you ever felt it? Me neither but I now wish all purses and bags would be made of it. It feels sturdy yet delicate and definitely cleanable. Look at all the storage in the Organization Bag–I’m thinking the zipper pouches would be perfect for my essential oils, gum, pens, chapstick, hair twisties and lip gloss. The roomy center area would fit my Travelers Notebook–planner and wallet, plus any books I carry around to read.
Around the House…
Yesterday while I was sitting in bed with Leo I was looking around my room thinking, “If I had to pack this room to move, what would I pack and what would I give away or trash?” And then I wondered why I couldn’t clean my room and whole house with that purpose? I think I like the idea of viewing everything in my house by that criteria.
In the Kitchen…
Sunday evening I made four Salads in a Jar from the Trim Healthy Mama cookbook, I opened my first one today and it was good! And super convenient. I also made up four Quinoa Berry Breakfasts in a jar and have eaten one each the last two days. Again, yummy and super convenient.
Oh, and I bought a couple packs of spoons the other day because we were down to like 2. Don’t ask me how because I have no idea.
Diffusing
Allergies have struck Maximilian and Luke and Leo had some 24 hour fever thing going on so continual Fighting Five with a drop of Peppermint. I also put some Fighting Five on the base of their neck and the soles of their feet before bed. (You can read here why I chose to purchase my oils from Amazon.)
A Great Blog Post
I read a couple yesterday–I already linked to Emily’s post about praying for clarity. This one was really good, How to Help Me Get to Heaven: 15 Guys and Girls Weigh In I sent it to Bernadette, had Veronica and Anna read it and then I read it to Chris.

I hate that things have been quiet here.
Our Domestic Church…
Tomorrow is the Feast of St. Margaret of Cortona–She is the patron saint of the falsely accused, hoboes, homeless, insane, orphaned, mentally ill, midwives, penitents, single mothers, reformed prostitutes, stepchildren, and tramps. Thursday is the Feast of St. Peter Damian. He’s known for his missionary work with lepers in Hawaii. And next Tuesday is Shrove Tuesday! We always have a big pancake party to celebrate!
Saving Money…
GW Boutique 1/2 Price Day was a success. Girls found skirts, sweats, shirts, and books (books aren’t half price on 1/2 price day but they are only $2-3 normally). I bought a shirt that says “Trophy Wife” with deer antlers on it; Chris is a hunter. This shirt is appaling to my teen daughter and subconsciously this makes the shirt even better I think! One of my girls asked if I knew what a trophy wife was?!? “Of course I do,” I answered. That’s part of what makes this shirt so great–I am the exact opposite of a trophy wife–a little softer and saggier than the average trophy wife because I’ve carried and delivered 7 big, fat babies with my one and only husband of almost 25 years.
Captured…
Chris took this of Leo and I the other morning while we were sleeping.

Love the idea about the house cleaning, what a brilliant way to look at it. I’ve been in my house for over 25 years so there are probably lots of things that I could realistically take to the charity shop.
