Advent will be here before you know it and I want to help you get ready. This post is not about Advent Traditions for the family as it is so much about you personally preparing your heart for the birth of Jesus. If you’ve read much around here at The Littlest Way, you might guess where this post is going, Bible journaling. Whether you’re a journal in a wide margin Bible kind of gal, or use a separate notebook for Bible journaling, I believe there is something so intimately creative when we spend time in the Word of God like this.
Dayspring sent me their new Advent Bible Journaling Kit and I am excited to put this beautiful baby to use. I try to always show different ways the Bible Journaling Kits can be used and this one–wait till you see some of the ideas I have!
First, let me tell you what’s included:
3 sheets of cardstock stickers
24 pages of tip-ins (12 different designs)
1 sheet of clear stickers
39 die cut pieces
1 roll of washi tape
Here are some random ideas I’m going to throw out to you:
Use the cardstock stickers to decorate your planner, monthly calendar or holiday planner.
Use the tip-ins as gift tags, gift bookmarks or journaling cards. The clear stickers will look lovely in your Bible, prayer journal, planner or calendar or even on a small window or mirror. The die cut pieces–I have never been so in love with die cuts! These can be glued or taped in your Bible, used as gift tags, table decoration confetti or decorative touches to the pockets of your planner. You could string these up to make a delicate banner for your fireplace or Christmas tree. The washi tape is numbered so you could use it for counting down how many days until Christmas, decorate packages or seal Christmas cards.
Let me talk more about the die cuts for a minute longer. These die cuts have Scripture prompts on the back of them. You could place them all in a decorative bowl and pull one out each day to journal. You could include one in Christmas cards you send or glue them on a toothpick to make pretty cupcake toppers! They could be washi taped on one side in your Bible or prayer journal with the corresponding verse that’s printed on the back–a pretty flap or tip-in.
If you have not tried Bible journaling, if you’re looking for a way that you can enter deeply into time with God and His Word during, what is typically a very hushed and rushed season, I encourage you to get one of these kits for yourself. Use some of the examples I’ve given or totally go your own way in expressing the joy you’re anticipating for the Baby King of the world.
I would love for you to use this Advent Bible Journaling Kit as a companion to my free Advent Devotional for Women. Of all of my writing, I am most proud of this little devotional. It’s short, sweet, and challenging in some areas without being a burden in time or spirit.
