Friends! Welcome to the new December Daily Advent Devotional for Women! You know I have a free Advent Devotional for Women for email subscribers that is wildly popular! It’s honestly one of my most favorite things I’ve ever written.
The free Daily Devotional for Women follows the readings of the Jesse Tree to give mommas who do the Jesse Tree with their children a second exposure to those scriptures each day. This Daily Advent Devotional begins December 1st–which is the First Sunday of Advent this year and ends December 31st. Yes, I know Advent technically ends on the 24th of December, let me explain.
I intentionally extended this Advent Devotional into the Christmas season because December 26th seems to bring its own restless letdown, even for those of us who liturgically recognize it as the beginning of the Christmas season. Liturgically we recognize Advent as the beginning of the year which bears its own tension in a world that has Christmas cleaned up and the calendar New Year just a slight speed bump on the way to the next marketing holiday of Valentines.
I wanted this devotional to carry through the end of the month and the end of the year in a less hurried and consistent way; to keep doing for the entire 31 days what you’ve been doing for the past 24 days. Make sense?
Now let’s briefly consider price. I offer two Advent Devotionals, one is free for email subscribers and this new one for 2019 is $7.95. Let me assure you confidently that both are well worth the going rate for Advent Devotionals found on Amazon or in bookstores. I purposefully offer these Advent Devotionals for free or at an extremely reasonable price because my goal is to get one of the Advent Devotionals into as many hearts and homes as possible.
We are a single income family. As I sit here and write this post today, the only family vehicle we have is beyond repair according to the mechanic who graciously didn’t charge us for the work he did in order to find out and deliver that somber news. My husband just replaced his 1995 truck a few short months ago; you can image our finances right now. I don’t want similar circumstances in anyone’s life to give them a second of pause when it comes to diving deeper and pursuing a closer friendship with Jesus this Advent.
Financial issues and car issues aside, there is an Advent Devotional for you. Not only a devotional, but also a community. Our Online Bible Study Community is using this Advent Devotional for our December study. We would love for you to join us! We are a lovely group of women to read, write, pray, and study the Scriptures together in an online community. We follow the scripture writing plan and journaling reflections and then we meet weekly in a private Facebook group for a live community chat.
To date, our Online Bible Study Community has written in entirety the Books of Philippians, Colossians, Ephesians, Galatians, Ruth, James, 1 & 2 Thessalonians, as well as Psalm 119 and Proverbs 31. That’s a lot of handwritten scripture friends! We’ve also met in a weekly, private Facebook Live chat, we’ve formed friendships and a devoted circle of prayer warriors.
One of the benefits of joining our Online Bible Study Community is access to all the previous studies–the scripture writing plans, the daily journaling reflections, and the replay videos from our Live chats. And if it’s just not the right time to join our online community, all previous studies are available for purchase in my shop.
Finally, if you’d like to gift a friend or family member a one-month subscription to our Online Community, we can do that as well; there is nothing more beautiful than inviting a friend or family member to journey alongside as you enter a deeper friendship with Jesus.
