Welcome to My Daybook Online Journal. A weekly post here at The Littlest Way where I gather all the ordinary things that happen or are happening in my day to day. Things like what I’m reading or listening to, eating, cleaning, and learning. These are the small moments that make up my blessed daily life and I want to remember them. My prompts may change depending on season and circumstance.
Thanking God for…
::living on land so we have room
::the gift of discernment
::talking about Jesus with a friend
::Veronica and the little boys snuggled in a chair reading a book
::the empty tomb
Lord, what’s not to pray for right now?!?
::I’m pondering my place, where I fit in and if I’m ok with not fitting in.
::I’m pondering the way change, changes people and how I need to respond to them, not react.
::I’m pondering the events of one year ago when I was diagnosed with a Melanoma in Situ on my face.

Friends how are we spending this time? This situation may feel out of control and our circumstances may be out of our control but our attitude… % . So many of us have the attitude right now of making due with what we’ve been given. And while that attitude is true, humble sounding even, it can also be an attitude of complacency–a false sense of satisfaction with ourselves. This reminds me of one of my favorite quotes, ” , .” And no, I’m not saying social distancing or quarantine are comfortable, but it can lead to a comfortable mindset of, “I can’t because…” Instead of focusing on what we can’t do, let focus on what we can do. Let’s face the day, and remind ourselves that we can (and do) set the tone in any and all circumstances. And if we’re not sure which one to do–whine or worship, let’s think about it, whatever “it” is with an eternity mindset. Friends, worship is an eternity mindset and a heart posture. Worship means being ready, every single day to learn and grow in God the Father. Worship is a way of life that draws and invites others into the presence of our good God. ✨Now is our time to shine! ❤️People are looking for freedom–we know Him! +2 Corinthians 3:17 ❤️People need wisdom & guidance–we know Him! +John 14:3-6 ❤️People are searching for peace–we know Him! +Isaiah 9:6 ❤️People want life–we know Him! +John 6:32-35 ➡️Not only do we know Him, most importantly, we’re called to share Him!!
Peace by Bethel Music on Spotify. This is a new version of some of their songs, set to slower tempo music that has health benefits to the brain and on the emotions, from the producer, “The recordings on this album use cutting edge techniques scientifically proven to help heal parts of the brain damaged by all kinds of emotional trauma—like anxiety, depression, abuse, divorce, and grief—by engaging both sides of the brain through the gentle panning of peaceful soundscapes known as bilateral music,” Cash explains. “As you listen, breathe slow and deep and enjoy the healing, peaceful effects of these powerful biblical truths proclaimed over your life.”

Our Online Bible Study Community is reading, writing, praying, and studying the Book of Job this month…seems kind of appropriate huh? I also took a couple of notes in my daily Bible reading on the YouVersion app, here are the notes I made:
Psalm 42:1–“I long to drink of you, O God, drinking deeply from the streams of pleasure flowing from your presence. My longings overwhelm me for more of you!
NOTE: ♥ More
Matthew 26:39–He went on a little further and bowed with his face tot he ground, praying, “My Father! If it is possible, let this cup of suffering be taken away from me, Yet I want your will to be done, not mine.””
NOTE: “My supreme passion is to please God. For if all I attempt to do is please people, I would not be the true servant of the Messiah.” +Galatians 1:10 (TPT)
Acts 2:46–“Daily they met together in the temple courts and in one another’s homes to celebrate communion. They shared meals together with joyful hearts and tender humility.”
NOTE: shared meals with joyful hearts and tender humility ♥
Around the House…
Why? Why has my laundry not decreased since we go nowhere?!!? So, lots of cooking and laundry, lol! Probably the same for you.
In the Kitchen…
The last few years we have had “Mexican Easter” where we made a bunch of Mexican food. It started because I was feeling burned out from the traditional Thanksgiving, Christmas, and then Easter, so we switched things up! This year though we had “Thanksgiving Easter,” to celebrate Veronica coming out of quarantine after flying home after spring break. We had turkey, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, big salad, rolls, and pie.
Friends, do not neglect self-care right now, you have to have something to give those who are dependent on you so take good care of yourself! Mine has looked like hot baths, quiet time in my bedroom, extra time with God in His Word, and garage exercise.
I have also been intentional about diffusing mood-lifting oils–tree oils like Cypress and citrus oils.
(I used to purchase my essential oils from Amazon or Edens Garden instead of a distributor. You can read my thoughts on why here, “Where I’m From…” I’ve since decided I don’t have the time or resources to properly educate myself on using the oils to their fullest potential. That’s why I signed up with Young Living under a former Family Practice Physician.)

Friends, it’s time to…resurrect the flying turtle story! (Did you think I was going to say it’s time to make my bed behind me ) I’m feeling reminiscent right now because of my one year Melanoma in Situ diagnosis anniversary. Looking back through old posts, I came across the one where I shared a little story. In the story I was telling Chris, “I’m not scared of what is. On paper the facts are, I ‘dodged a bullet’ as the dermatologist told me. I’m scared of what it could be.” And then Chris reminded me that if I was going to be scared of what could be I also needed to be scared of a flying turtle. See, a year ago I had read him a story about a guy driving along, when the truck in front of him hit a turtle on the road. The truck hit it at just the right angle that it launched the turtle into the windshield of the car behind, smashing through it like a small boulder. The driver of the damaged car, although covered in glass was fine. The turtle didn’t make it. The point then, as well as now is this, if we’re going to worry about the “What ifs” and there are some crazy big ones right now, right? If we’re going to worry about the “What ifs” we need to add “What if a flying turtle crashes through my windshield” to the list. Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. +Philippians 4:6-7
