Welcome to my weekly Sunday post, Daybook Online Journal. This is a post where I gather all the ordinary things that happen or are happening in my day to day. Things like what I’m reading or listening to…eating and cleaning and learning…These are the small moments that make up my blessed daily life; and I want to remember them. If you blog, please link up below with your Daybook Online Journal post. If you don’t have a blog, no worries, just leave your “post” in the comments. You can use my prompts or make up your own to include items important to you; mine change depending on season and circumstance.

Pondering…
So much that I’m not even sure what I’m pondering…does that make sense?
Listening to…
Right this very minute, I’m listening to a podcast–How to Simplify Your Blogging Life. Overall, I’m listening to my Amazon Prime Music Library. Did you know about this? Amazon Prime members can build a music library to listen to–ad free! If you’re not a Prime member, now would be the time to sign up. I paid $99 for one year but right now you can sign up for $72! Here are some of the benefits of a Prime membership:
::Free 2 day shipping
::Instant videos
::unlimited, ad free music streaming
::unlimited photo storage
::Kindle lending library
Reading…
The children and I are almost finished with Billowtail. We all agree this is one of the BEST books we’ve ever read. We want to read Little Maximus Myers by the same author.
My Bible–The NRSV Notetaker’s Bible
Make it Happen: Surrender Your Fear. Take the Leap. Live On Purpose.
Bible Journaling…
I share pictures from my Bible Journaling a couple of times a week on my Instagram account. I will say it again, although I am not an artist (I printed this pretty graphic from the internet and then traced it), I am really enjoying the time I spend either trying to figure out how to be an artist for a particular scripture or adding a couple stickers or a reflection to a particular scripture.
Did you see the post Elizabeth shared this week about how she’s using her journaling Bible? All the Things I Want to Share With Her.
Around the House…
I finally feel–finally…like we are coming out of the chaotic hole we ended up in when Chris was gone for almost four months and we were all sick for two of those months. The house and school seemed to run a little bit more smoothly this past week. Hopefully this week produces the same results if not better.
In the Kitchen…
Trying to keep it on the cheap. We’ll have something with beans one or two nights…venison one or two nights…for Luke’s birthday he wants fried potatoes and ham and Aunt Delores’ Carrot Cake.
Our Domestic Church…
Veronica and I are preparing to renew out Total Consecration to Jesus February 11th. Veronica is reading Preparation for Total Consecration and I am reading Consecration to Mary: St. Louis De Montfort’s True Devotion : Complete Five-Week Preparation : Prayers, Daily Meditations, Spiritual Guidance, Ceremony although I didn’t start five weeks ago, uh-oh. I’m running behind this year.
Saving Money…
Not only do I not think I saved money this week, I spent some unnecessarily–not budgeted for. On the other hand, Chris had a bit of overtime this week so hopefully it will even out and maybe even come out ahead because his overtime should be more than my frivolous spending. So I will resolve to do better this week.
Captured…
I shared this on Instagram this week. Here’s what you don’t see; the toddler with a ball as big as he is trying to balance it on his head or scare people into thinking he’s going to hit them with it. The 11yo and 9yo SSHUUUUSHING the toddler because he’s also jabbering/humming. The 13yo laying on the couch with a headache. The 16yo scrolling through My IG account. The sink full of dirty dishes, the clean laundry waiting to be folded and the dirty waiting to be washed. The floors that need swept…Again…

Love that scripture art and we absolutely love amazon prime! We’ve had it for a number of years and really appreciate all the benefits. Haha, the free-loading no laying eggs chickens made me laugh. 🙂 Excited to be back with the Daybook fun.

I didn’t know about the music thing! I am checking that out today. I love my Prime Membership, btw. 🙂 Oh and could Chris come and stack my firewood too?? 😉

Chris cuts…kids stack! I think the free music library may be my new favorite Prime benefit. I have the whole Rend Collection album “The Art of Celebration” loaded…the whole album!

I just clicked the link to see if it worked and unfortunately, the advertising video before the actual song is very inappropriate. Go ahead and delete it, if necessary or be warned. The song is Matt Maher’s, Lord I Need You.

I’m thanking God for:
Briana Thomas’ sugar free peanut butter ice cream. And my Vitamix.
Wisdom.
Raspberries and fresh blueberries. The blueberries were off season, affordable and actually good.
The breakfast cake that I made with them. (gluten and sugar free)
New pajama shorts that are incredibly helpful with newly found night sweats. Talk about fun!
Pondering: It doesn’t have to be all or nothing.
I have been stuck in a few areas for a while now. Some of the endeavors I have aspired to are meal planning, better, or maybe different homeschooling organization and more self-care. I have come a long way, thanks in part to Trim Healthy Mama and twin babies, with another baby close behind them, growing more independent.
I have been watching a couple of bloggers that I really respect and admire and trying to utilize their methods for a couple of these endeavors.
What I have noticed is the overwhelming feeling I get when I imagine doing them. They are in line with my ways/values or I wouldn’t want to employ them in the first place. So why do I feel this way? Why do they seem impossible for me to put into practice? And, please know that these wonderful women never suggest that I employ these methods to the tee, but that is how I start out.
Then it hit me. Know Thyself. Thank you God, since I needed to realize this in order to keep it real. If “Never buy processed foods.” and “Make everything from scratch.” is recommended, but I know that with my realistic limitations makes that over burdensome, then I don’t have to feel horribly guilty if a bag of Bertolli Chicken Minestrone keeps me away from Wendy’s. Or, if I actually go to Wendy’s. Right now, I need Bimbo Bread. Don’t laugh, it’s pronounced “Beembo.” I also don’t have to feel guilty (again, self induced) when I can’t meet the unrealistic expectations of those around me. Whew.
I can start small and continue to aspire to that vision though, and maybe I will someday get there.
Here is a song that I love and reminds me to know thyself in a humility kind of way.

Tonight after Aunt Delores’ Carrot Cake for Luke’s Birthday, I’m going back on THM. I just feel better when I’m not chasing sugar or it’s chasing me!

I hear you.

Quite a few things I want to comment about here! I will work my way up from the bottom of the post.
I love the picture of you reading aloud.
Billowtail is low on our list of books to read this year, but I think I will move it up to the top of our list because I am itching to start it.
I love listening to podcasts, so I am totally going to listen to that one!
About the pondering, I totally understand. I feel that way often and that is why I try to always have a notebook and one with me at all times.
And I should give that Dove shampoo a try.
Have a great week! 🙂

I cannot wait for someone I know to read Billowtail! I cannot believe how much I am loving this book. I’m not much of a podcast person, I’m too visual/hand on, but every once in a while I like to listen to them. Of course I love Sarah’s over at Amongst Lovely Things. I’ve been bothering her the last couple of days to start Billowtail with her children. 😉
