Welcome to How to Live the Little Way. A weekly post here at The Littlest Way where I gather all the ordinary things that happen or are happening in my day to day. Things like what I’m reading or listening to, eating, cleaning, and learning. These are the small moments that make up my blessed daily life and I want to remember them. My prompts may change depending on season and circumstance.
Thanking God for…
::a safe trip to and from Texas for soccer
::Chris understanding my need to guard Friday nights–even if I make crazy decisions to do so
::some really great conversations lately
::being seen, heard, loved
::fun at the fair
::finishing my toe ring stack
::fried cheese curd tacos with spicy buffalo wing sauce
::hours and hours spent at the fair with my family
::listening to the fiddling and picking contest
I’m praying for fortitude and perseverance. I’m praying strength for my marriage; the enemy would like to divide and conquer–thankfully Chris recognized it and let me know what was going on. I’m praying for my children, the Lord knows. I’m praying for friends; thankfully some of those prayers are prayers of thanksgiving on their behalf! I’m praying for all those who are hurting–especially those who don’t know how to deal with it and carry it alone.
I am wearing my Praise playlist on Spotify out! Please help a girl out and share your favorite Praise and Worship songs! My favorite right now, the one I hope comes up first when I hit “Shuffle” is, Spirit Lead Me by Influence Music. (OH MY GOODNESS! I just looked up this video and saw others by him. I had no idea he was the guy from America’s Got Talent! I saw his audition and I’ve only watched the show maybe 4 times. I loved him!! So much so I found his video last year and shared it with Chris. I had no idea he was the guy singing the song I have on repeat right now!!)
Bible in a Year: Your Daily Encounter with God
This is my “quantity” Bible to make sure I get the Word inside me each and every day.
Catholic Journaling Bible and the Inspire Catholic Bible NLT: The Bible for Coloring & Creative Journaling
These are my study and journaling Bibles.
I just started reading WEIRD: Because Normal Isn’t Working
* I’ve written an ebook to guide you through the whys and hows to get started with Bible Journaling, Bible Journaling Tips, Inspiration and Permission, and to encourage and inspire you in your Bible journaling!
The YouVersion app shows I have 8 more reading days to go to finish my 90 Day Bible Reading Plan! I’m going to try to know those out today! Tomorrow at the latest. I’m ready for something else, any suggestions for a good Bible Reading Plan? If you’re not on the app, get it! Although I prefer a paper Bible, the app is super convenient and we can friend each other over there and share notes and highlights.
Around the House…
It seems like any time I get my laundry completely caught up I’m totally behind again in 2 days, maybe even worse than before! In other house news, we recently switched up the kids chores and it seems to be going ok so far?
My kitchen was full and busy this weekend and I loved every single minute of it even though I don’t think hospitality is a strength of mine? I do know I came in late Saturday from a very, very long Friday/Saturday and could have easily been grumpy. Instead, after I unloaded the car and took a shower, I got to hang out in my kitchen laughing and eating. Good stuff y’all. I was fed in more ways than one.
In the Kitchen…
Speaking of…it’s so much more fun with people in it than just me and when it’s just me I’m like, “Meh…how about cereal and milk?” And can we talk about the non-existent Fall? I am so ready for soups and stews but it’s like 95 degrees outside!!
Anna has been reminding me to consistently use my oils for emotional support right now. I’m emotional and I’ve been forgetting to use my oils…ugh! That’s not how that should go! But once I remember, KAPOW! The emotional support is amazing. Right now my favorite is a hot Vetiver bath and using a roller bottle blend I mixed up called Isaiah 41:10…heavenly!
(I used to purchase my essential oils from Amazon or Edens Garden instead of a distributor. You can read my thoughts on why here, “Where I’m From…” I’ve since decided I don’t have the time or resources to properly educate myself on using the oils to their fullest potential. That’s why I signed up with Young Living under a former Family Practice Physician.)
The Littlest Way
For real this time I’m picking up where I left off on our Bible Study Journal Template posts. They are so much fun to write, partly because I get to spend so much time in the Scriptures to write them. Me+God=♥
Also, our next Online Bible Study starts tomorrow! I’ll let you know tomorrow what we’re studying together! If you don’t know what I’m talking about, click here and you’ll find all the info.
