Welcome to the Daybook. A weekly post here at The Littlest Way where I gather all the ordinary things that happen or are happening in my day to day. Things like what I’m reading or listening to, eating, cleaning, and learning. These are the small moments that make up my blessed daily life and I want to remember them. My prompts may change depending on season and circumstance.

Praying…
I am so happy I started using the printable prayer journal. I have no idea how I would keep up right now. It seems everyone has something that seems especially pressing during Advent, Christmas, and the New Year.
Pondering…
This isn’t anything deep, spiritual or maybe even important. But since I got my Fitbit on Friday, I’ve been moving more. The other day, when I told Bernadette how many steps I had taken on the first day, she said good, but you would have taken those steps without the Fitbit as well. But I wouldn’t have. That evening when Chris and I walked in the field, instead of following the path back, I told him to walk a little further to the old barn so I could get some extra steps. On Sunday, a couple of hours before bed I realized my steps were the lowest they had been since I started tracking them on Friday. I got up and went and walked on the treadmill for 25 minutes. Not only did I get some more steps in, I also listened to a really great sermon. So I’m pondering why tracking my steps has made me want to take more steps.
Listening to…
The kids and I listened to one of my favorite sermons the other day, Spiritual Flyswatters. I think we should probably listen to this sermon every six months or at least once a year.
Reading…
The One Year Bible – Catholic: NLT
As I’ve been considering the New Year this weekend, I thought of my top 3 priorities and reading this Bible every day was in the top 3.
Still listening to Liturgy of the Ordinary: Sacred Practices in Everyday Life
I may need to buy this one. As I listen I keep thinking, “Oh! I wish I could highlight that part!”
Bible Journaling…
Today is the last day of the Countdown to Christmas sale at Dayspring, including Illustrated Faith Bible Journaling goodies. And let me tell you, I would buy a couple of things because the new Catholic Journaling Bible releases anyday now! I’m like that old commercial where the woman is standing outside the store chanting “Open…open…open…” And you can use Ebates to earn 6.5% cashback on your Dayspring purchases. If you’re new to Ebates, you also get $10 once you spend $25.
Around the House…
I would like to do a massive house clean this week. We also have dental cleanings for the whole family, I have a mammogram, Veronica has practice, and is scheduled to babysit for family and friends twice this week. Plus Chris will be around all day Friday and everyone knows when daddy is around, housework doesn’t happen.
In the Kitchen…
I will say it again and again, I love Walmart online grocery shopping. I will say it again, the simple fact that I do not go into the store saves me a minimum of $50 every week. That is $200 a month y’all. That is $2400 a year y’all. This theory was unfortunately tested this weekend. Use my referral link and get $10 off your first order.
Self Care
Fitbit for the win!roller bottle of Goodnight but I call it “Chill Out.” It’s similar to Young Living’s Peace and Calming. (You can read here why I purchase my essential oils from Amazon or Edens Garden instead of a distributor. If you’re not an Amazon Prime member with FREE shipping, Edens Garden has FREE shipping all the time in the US.)

Our Domestic Church…
This year, Christmas falls on a Monday. Christmas is a Holy Day of Obligation and so is Sunday. Meaning, yes, you have to…or as I tell my children, you get to to go to Mass Sunday and Monday!
Saving Money…
$50 a week using Walmart Online Grocery Shopping. Enough said. Drop the mic and whatever else the cool kids say.
Captured…
I shared a couple of straight out of the phone camera pictures on my Instagram of Veronica’s hair without using L’BRI shampoo, conditioner, and hair masque and Veronica’s hair using thair-dried=”http://www.lbri.com/insideout” target=”_blank” rel=”nofollow”>L’BRI haircare products. I mention in the caption, this is 100% natural, air dried hair, no chemicals, no products, no styling.
