Welcome to My Daybook Online Journal. A weekly post here at The Littlest Way where I gather all the ordinary things that happen or are happening in my day to day. Things like what I’m reading or listening to, eating, cleaning, and learning. These are the small moments that make up my blessed daily life and I want to remember them. My prompts may change depending on season and circumstance.

This kid y'all about broke me being born…an 11 pound baby will do that This kid breaks me every single day y'all. He's funny and kind and mischievous and ornery, a continuous talking machine with dirty glasses, bare feet, and no sense of personal space This kid is loved like you wouldn't believe and he knows it ❤️ Have you ever noticed though that people who don't feel loved or believe they're loveable are hard and mean? They're always looking for a fight so they can prove to themselves that no one loves them Then they can stay justified and isolated in their anger and self hatred. Unfortunately, you can't love someone out of that place, they have to do it don't ask me how I know. What you can do is keep space for them. Not a space where they can be mean–yes, we're called to turn the other cheek but we don't have to offer ourselves as a punching bag. Hold a space they can step into when they realize no amount of self hatred could ever destroy the love God has for them. A space to step into when they're ready to accept love and live in love. When they step into that place it means they're ready for healing They've stepped off the battlefield and into the grace, mercy, and forgiveness of God. What an awesome place to be friends! Because when we are open to God's grace, His Mercy, and His forgiveness, we can offer it to ourselves and others Life y'all…it is so good and there's so much to love…almost as much as being the baby of the family and getting to sleep on big sister's floor with all the twinkly lights ✨
Someone put an old country playlist on their Spotify that we’re listening to right now. This is a new favorite I added to my January Praise list,

Trusting what lies ahead
Around the House…
Is it funny that it’s a big deal to me that I just bought 2 new pans? I only had a huge stockpot so I bought myself an 8qt one and I had to buy a new saucepan to replace the one we ruined with burned coconut oil.
In the Kitchen…
I’ve tied to be a little more intentional in our grocery budget this month, we still have a few days to go so we’ll see. I do think it’s harder to stick to a budget with older kids and multiple practices that have me out of the house multiple nights a week; mainly the older kids though. What do you think? Did you notice your budget increasing as your children aged?
Oils, oils, oils! It’s cold and flu season around here friends. We’re diffusing Thieves, we’re using Thieves hand sanitizer, we’re rubbing a “Cold Bomb” roller bottle recipe on our spines and the bottom of our feet. I love that we can reach for essential oils to help strengthen our immune systems.
(I used to purchase my essential oils from Amazon or Edens Garden instead of a distributor. You can read my thoughts on why here, “Where I’m From…” I’ve since decided I don’t have the time or resources to properly educate myself on using the oils to their fullest potential. That’s why I signed up with Young Living under a former Family Practice Physician.)

Last year, my one word for the year was grow. As the year progressed and I started getting some clarity into what "grow" was going to look like, I had to get some focused intention real quick? , . People who don't want you to grow will try to deplete you and your environment of healthy nutrients. They will try to chop you down at your roots, sow weeds in your life and even steal your fruit. ️They'll throw shade to keep you in the dark and they'll try to block the sun or Son–literally and figuratively, spiritually, emotionally, mentally, and even physically. ☀️My focused intention meant seeking the light–first and foremost Jesus, the light of the world. I also examined my environment and the people I allowed in that environment. I specifically sought truth–even when it looked like discipline or was hard. I specifically sought beauty–even if it was marked by a scar. I specifically sought goodness–even it meant painful pruning necessary for new growth. Last year looked like allowing very few people intimate access to me. And I grew because of it. ❤️This guy, man he was one of very few who saw all my growing pains up close and personal, and loved me through them. ️He was one of very few who spoke words of life over me and prayed for me. He was one of very few who helped me guard and tend my growth. This guy made room and gave me room to grow
