Welcome to the Daybook Journal. A weekly post here at The Littlest Way where I gather all the ordinary things that happen or are happening in my day to day. Things like what I’m reading or listening to, eating, cleaning, and learning. These are the small moments that make up my blessed daily life and I want to remember them. My prompts may change depending on season and circumstance.
* I’ve written an ebook to guide you through the why’s and how to get started with Bible Journaling, Bible Journaling Tips, Inspiration and Permission, and to encourage and inspire you in your Bible journaling!
Thanking God for…

Oh boy, am I praying for college money for my girl. We have her official acceptance letter and her official financial package letter, umm…..I can’t believe God would present such an opportunity for her to continue to play soccer, and at a Catholic college, only for the financial burden to be greater than she can bear. Will you pray for and with us please? Chris and I cannot pay for college so the enormity of this rests on her. Again, please pray.
About 3 o’clock in the morning, Jesus came to them, walking in the water…Then Peter called to him, ‘Lord, if it’s really you, tell me to come to you by walking on water.’ ‘All right come,’ Jesus said. As we’re starting to think about what we’re going to do, not do, give up or add this Lent, let’s think about this passage from Matthew. Peter walking on water wasn’t Jesus’ idea, it was Peter’s. We will be journeying through Lent together at The Littlest Way this year. Posts, printables, and live Facebook discussions. Make sure you’re an email friend to stay up to date. The One Year Bible – Catholic: NLT
This is my “quantity” Bible to make sure I get the Word inside me each and every day.
Catholic Journaling Bible
This is my study Bible.
I have a preview of the new, “This is Love” Bible Journaling kit from Dayspring; it’s a sweet winner! Watch my Instagram for more when I can share. And I used their new January Goals Kit in my planner the other day.
If using Bible journaling supplies in my Happy Planner is wrong, I don’t wanna be right. I have loved using the goal setting Bible journaling kit in my Happy Planner this week. I have set some serious goals for this week, month, 12 weeks, year. I have also chosen the word STEADY for my one word this year. So everyday, I try to do the next thing, the right thing, and I am already seeing the results. Do not be afraid to set goals. Do not be afraid to hit those goals. Do not be afraid to take care of yourself. #adayinthelife #nowisnow #nowisgood #thismoment #holyordinary #goals #illustratedfaith #DaySpring #creativeplanning #faithplanner #happyplanner #biblejournaling #selfcare #healthynotvain #momlife
I love the versatility of these kits. My kids also use them to decorate cards they send to their oldest sister.
Around the House…
We did a major house clean this weekend in preparation for our Epiphany Blessing–closets and all! That being said, I think I”m going to join my friend Kathryn in a 10 day, I think? house purge. She’ll probably post most of it on Instagram.
In the Kitchen…
I would like to repeat my continued undying love for Walmart Grocery Pickup. It was literally one of my most favorite things of 2017. And with that, the family is having fish sticks and tater tots for dinner tonight. That’s what happens when momma has to leave the house–it totally throws me off my game. Something I seriously need to work on. The rest of this week we’re cooking from the Trim Healthy Mama new cookbook because I LOVE the section with Instant Pot recipes, total life saver. (I have this Instant Pot but I really wish I would have gotten the bigger one.)
Oh one more thing, I saw this incredible deal on boneless, skinless chicken breasts. .99 a pound y’all! Now, it does come in 40 pund boxes but um, yes please! Use this code–99cents, this link to order yours. According to the USDA, you can freeze chicken for up to 9 months. So, pull up to a delivery site and they place it in your car…easy peasy, boneless, skinless chicken breasts for a year at 99cents a pound.
Anxiety Ease is in my top 3 essential oils. I diffused it all the blessed day on Sunday–that kind of day. I just got in an order of some single oils to diffuse or use right now during cold and flu season: Oregano, Eucalyptus, Clove Bud, Tea Tree, and Grapefruit. And still diffusing my “Momma Blend” in the living room plus we all put a little on our feet before bed. (You can read here why I purchase my essential oils from Amazon or Edens Garden instead of a distributor. If you’re not an Amazon Prime member with FREE shipping, Edens Garden has FREE shipping all the time in the US.) And look at this essential oil carrying case! I also just stick mine in ziploc baggies.
1. Diffusing Lavender (stabilize mood, improve sleep, soothe nerves, balance blood sugar, kill bacteria, relieve pain), Peppermint (relieves headaches, improves mental focus, antimicrobial properties, clears respiratory tract, boosts energy, relaxes tight muscles), and Frankincense (supports healthy cellular function, increase blood flow and circulation, reduce inflammation, promote feelings of wellness and relaxation, balances hormones, improves memory, helps boost immune system, antiseptic and disinfectant). I call this my ‘momma blend’ especially with widespread flu activity. I made a rollerball with Jojoba oil and this blend and have been wearing it as well😊 Verse mapping in Psalm 6–the first of the Seven Penitential Psalms (sneak peek and hint😉) Reading over past posts during Lent where I quoted from this book–Reflections on the Passion. Fondly remembering my birthday weekend in Florida 2 weekends ago. Consuming vitamin C for wellness in a Singing Canary for energy. Working on the Free Lent Devotional for Women series and ebook at The Littlest Way. Our Domestic Church…
This Sunday is Septuagesima Sunday, the beginning of the pre-Lent season.
I’ve decided our first baby step of the financial year is to put 20% of our earnings into our Emergency Fund. Right now, it has one month’s worth of living expenses in it–barely. And putting back 20% is reeaaalllyyyy stretching it for us in this season. All I can do is try right.
