Welcome to the Daybook Journal. A weekly post here at The Littlest Way where I gather all the ordinary things that happen or are happening in my day to day. Things like what I’m reading or listening to, eating, cleaning, and learning. These are the small moments that make up my blessed daily life and I want to remember them. My prompts may change depending on season and circumstance.

Praying…
Good grief, why do some things have to be so hard sometimes?!? Why do mudholes look like spa treatments? Why does running backwards look like security? No worries though, I’m on it and this girl is at war! If you’d like to be added to my list, email me or leave a comment below that says “Me,” no need to leave any details, God knows.
Listening to…
Right now, quiet. Veronica is in her room doing Veronica stuff and Chris and the kids are outside doing something with the cows. I needed to buy a new phone a week ago, my old one was almost 5 years old. My new phone has Google Assistant on it and I set it up where in the morning I ask it about my day and it tells me the weather and what’s on my calendar, but my favorite part is that I have it set up to automatically start playing some morning praise and worship music!!

Bible Journaling…
I’m on the launch team for Illustrated Faith and their new Bible Journaling kit will be released soon. I love the colors of this one, I love the theme, “Stronger Together.” Basically, I can’t wait to use this kit.
Around the House…
We finally had to turn on the air conditioner this week. We try to make it a game to see how long we can wait. I was telling Chris today at lunch I’m glad we don’t have cable or dish. Besides the point that all I would do is watch HGTV, I think watching that channel too much would begin to cause me to be unhappy with the home I have and wish for soemthing else. Ain’t nobody got time for that kind of discontent!
In the Kitchen…
Um, today we had Root Beer Floats, that was my contribution. Oh, I do have something great to tell you about! I ordered some more Zaycon chicken at .99 cents a pound for a 40 pound box, Fall pick up only. So I will pick my chicken up in October. This will be my second time using their chicken. So far so great! They are big cuts so Chris filleted them. He grills me a couple pieces each Sunday to eat on during the week.

Self Care
My prayer journal game has been stagnant lately. I think some of it had to do with the fact my 3 ring binder was falling apart so I spruced things up Saturday. I moved my prayers into my Carpe Diem Personal size planner I wasn’t using anymore and truth be told, I missed it; it’s so pretty and just feels good in my hands. But here’s the thing, I cannot keep more than one planner and that one was too small for writing, school, family, and all the rest. So I made it into a happy prayer journal, changed some catagories and added somethings. Now that I have a new phone that will take good video, I’ll make a video soon showing you how I’m using it!
(I purchase my essential oils from Amazon or Edens Garden instead of a distributor. If you’re not an Amazon Prime member with FREE shipping, Edens Garden has FREE shipping all the time in the US.)

*Speaking of which…this week I will set things up so you can subscribe to the post feed only, meaning everytime I post, it lands in your email. The newsletter feed only, this will be a once a week recap of posts and behind the scenes info, or the feed and newsletter option combining the two options.
Our Domestic Church…
June is traditionally set aside to remember the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. Here’s a great article on 7 Ways to Honor the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
“The deeper we grow in the Catholic and Apostolic faith, the more we realize that the gospel is centered not so much in our love for God, but in God’s love for us. Holy Church has dedicated the month of June to a devotion that is designed to remind us of the depth of God’s passionate love for his creatures: devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.”
Saving Money…
I mentioned my .99 cent chicken deal above. I included a link to get $10 off your first Walmart Online Grocery Pickup–saves me $50 a week at least. And I’ve mentioned shopping at Aldis to save us money. Tell me how you save money in the comments.

Can’t even count all the reasons I love shopping at Aldi.
At my parents’ on Sunday I found two journals and a Bible that belonged to my grandmother. The journals were from the mid-1940s, written in her native language. The Bible had scattered highlights and underlines. As I scanned the passages she marked, there was this sense of putting my feet in her footprints. And I thought of your grandmother’s Bible and you.
